Desaer Plans to Build Its New Airplane Factory in Araxá (MG) and the Estimate is That BRL 250 Million Will Be Invested and 1,000 New Jobs Will Emerge by the End of 2024, When the Factory May Be Inaugurated.
The City Hall of Araxá (MG) granted an area of 277,800 m², adjacent to the Municipal Airport, this Wednesday (13), to Desaer Aeronautical Development. The site will receive an initial investment of US$ 250 million, and the estimate is that 1,000 jobs will be generated, both directly and indirectly. Such investments are aimed at starting construction of an aircraft factory for the company, to meet the demands of commercial, defense, and cargo markets.
Airplane Factory in Araxá is Scheduled to Open in 2024
According to Evandro Fileno, CEO of Desaer, the estimate is that by the end of 2024, the airplane factory will already be in operation and seeking to fulfill contracts that have already been signed. According to Fileno, one of the concepts that served as a basis for the development of the airplane factory in Araxá (MG) was to attract partners to the country, contributing to the generation of new jobs for the region and for Brazil.
The current estimate is to promote the arrival of other companies that could be suppliers for the airplane factory, as well as to encourage the opening of higher education courses aimed at this sector.

According to Juliano Cesar da Silva, municipal secretary of Economic Development, Tourism, and Innovation, facilitating the arrival of Desaer in Araxá (MG) will benefit not only the local economy but also technological development. Cesar also states that it is a significant milestone for the city to have a major investor, especially in the innovation sector, which is one of the current administration’s goals to attract new companies and promote workforce qualification and job creation.
Desaer’s Airplane Factory is in the Final Stages for Project Approval
Cesar reports that before construction begins, the project must also comply with various standards set by the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), which is responsible for project approval, given that the site for the airplane factory is located 20 meters from the airport.
In order to value the local community, architecture students from the University Center of Planalto de Araxá will be responsible for developing the factory project, which is also seen as a way to showcase local talent.
During the contract signing with the city hall of Araxá (MG), Fileno stated that he will be heading to the capital in the coming days to ensure project approvals, considering that the company plans to deliver a contracted aircraft that must be produced in Araxá by the end of 2024. For the production of the ATL-300 model alone, the company plans to invest an additional BRL 500 million.
Students from Araxá (MG) Will Also Participate in the Project
Another project involving students from Araxá is a partnership established with the Federal Center for Technological Education of Minas Gerais (CEFET-MG) so that within two years, residents of the municipality will be qualified to meet the sector’s demands, although the secretary estimates that professionals from other parts of the country will also migrate to the municipality due to the company’s knowledge requirements.
It is worth noting that in recent days, the City Hall of Araxá announced renovation works at the airport, which has not received domestic flights since the beginning of the pandemic due to lack of demand.
