Petrobras Continues Contracts with DOF Subsea and Signs Extension of Four Agreements with the Company for Support Vessel Operation in Oil Production
With strong growth in international oil demand, driven by recent instability in the global fuel sector, Petrobras is now seeking new expansion prospects in resource production. And to ensure even greater efficiency in the exploration of Brazilian fuel fields, the state-owned company announced the extension of four contracts with the logistics and maritime support company DOF Subsea, which will continue providing its services to the oil company.
The four contracts extended by Petrobras with DOF Subsea are for the provision of support vessel operation services, as a way to ensure the necessary services in the exploration of Brazilian fields.

Thus, DOF Subsea will be responsible for the operation of three support vessels for the Brazilian state-owned company for a total of 18 months until the end of 2023, continuing directly from the original schedule. This way, Petrobras will be able to maintain the quality of oil exploration in the national territory and will not need to seek new partners for maritime support services.
Furthermore, the extension of the support vessel operation contracts stipulates that the vessels will be operated by DOF Subsea and used by Petrobras in inspection activities of flexible pipelines, risers, and underwater equipment in the Campos, Santos, and Espírito Santo basins, as well as activities in the Marlim field.
These are the main oil exploration fields that the state-owned company currently has in the country and are the company’s biggest focus, given that they ensure massive production daily.
Extension of the Four Support Vessel Operation Agreements by DOF Subsea with Petrobras Will Add US$ 100 Million to the Company’s Service Portfolio
DOF Subsea commented on the extension of contracts signed with the oil company Petrobras and highlighted that, with the operation of the vessels in the state-owned company’s oil fields over the next few years, a total of US$ 100 million will be added to the company’s service portfolio.
And, in celebration of the signed agreements, the CEO of DOF Subsea, Mons S. Aase, emphasized: “I am very pleased that these awards will secure the utilization of our personnel and our assets and add an important record to the Group. This further strengthens our leadership position in Brazil and confirms our long-standing relationship with Petrobras.”
Now, inspections will be evaluated and processed by the DOF’s Subsea Engineering team in Brazil. They will be responsible for the entire assessment of the conditions of the underwater installations in the country to ensure greater safety in the operation of the support vessels.
Thus, Petrobras continues to strengthen its relationship with DOF Subsea, as the Brazilian company recently awarded charter and long-term service contracts to companies owned by DOF Norskan Offshore and DOF Subsea Serviços Brasil, and has now extended the support service agreements.
