Duster, the Best-Selling SUV in Europe and one of the most durable in the market, has just launched its much-anticipated third generation. Dacia unveiled the new Duster 2025 in December 2023, with an incredible advancement compared to the current model sold in Brazil, which was recently restyled here. Brimming with technology and comfort, the new Duster 2025 promises not only to be the best-selling SUV in Europe but also to win the hearts of Brazilians.

The new Duster, now built on the new CMFB platform belonging to the Renault Nissan group and no longer from Dacia, will have a bigger sibling, positioning itself as a mid-size SUV to compete with the Corolla Cross, Jeep Compass, and Caoa Cherry. SUV Comes with 21 cm of Ground Clearance, the Same Ground Clearance as a Toyota Hilux!

Right off the bat, it’s possible to see that the new Duster is much more attractive and modern. Inspired by the Bigster concept, the car’s design follows the lines of the original concept, resulting in an appealing and elegant visual.

At the front, the sharp headlights interconnected by the grille stand out, along with the bumper featuring functional air intakes. On the sides, the hidden rear door handles add a touch of sophistication to the model. At the rear, the Y-shaped LED taillights and the gray rear protector complete the set.

Regarding dimensions, the new Duster presents some changes thanks to the new CMFB platform belonging to the Renault Nissan group. Length, width, and height have been increased, ensuring an imposing appearance. The trunk has also seen a significant gain, now offering 472 liters, nearly 30 liters more than the previous generation.

The SUV also features 21 cm of ground clearance; for reference, that is the same ground clearance as a Toyota Hilux. It also offers descent control and even a differential lock.

Engine and Performance

In Europe, the new Duster has abandoned diesel options and now features a hybrid setup. The 1.6 naturally aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engine is combined with two electric motors, providing powerful and efficient performance. The clutchless multimode transmission has four speeds for the combustion engine and two for the electric.

With a combined power of 143 horsepower, the new Duster promises agile and economical performance. Its performance and consumption data have not yet been released by the brand; however, this same engine is used in the European Captur, and the car, which is heavier than the Duster, has a 0 to 100 km/h time of 9 seconds and records a mixed fuel consumption of 25 km per liter. An important highlight is that the car operates about 80% of the time solely with the electric motors, making it extremely efficient.

Another mechanical option that would be very efficient here in Brazil is the new 1.2 two-cylinder gasoline engine in Miller cycle, coupled with a 48V starter motor. There are 130 combined horsepower, and the torque is around 26 kgf·m. All of this is paired with a conventional six-speed automatic transmission, and best of all, you can choose between front-wheel drive or 4×4, with a five-mode driving system, including automatic, snow, sand, and mud; there is also an off-road mode that operates independently, and an economical mode, providing a safe and versatile driving experience.

Interior and Equipment

The interior of the new Duster has received significant improvements compared to the previous generation. With a modern military vehicle touch, the finish now features touch-sensitive soft areas and soft padding on the doors. The interior space comfortably accommodates five adults, thanks to the generous wheelbase.

Furthermore, the model comes equipped with a range of modern technological features, such as keyless entry, wireless phone charging, joystick-style gear lever, digital climate control, and multifunction steering wheel. The major highlight is the 10.1-inch multimedia system, which combines all the car’s functions. With a 360º camera system, built-in GPS, and wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the new Duster’s entertainment center is comprehensive and intuitive.

Safety: New Duster Offers a Series of Advanced Features Such as Collision Warning with Autonomous Emergency Braking

In terms of safety, the new Duster offers a range of advanced features. Among them are collision warning with autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, automatic high beam switching, lane correction assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, among others.

Additionally, the SUV is equipped with disc brakes with ABS on all four wheels, six airbags, descent control, and a traffic sign reader. All of this ensures maximum protection for the vehicle’s occupants.

Since Its Launch in 2010, the Duster Has Sold Over 2.2 Million Units Worldwide

Who would have thought that a Duster would ever have all this? Indeed, arriving to change everyone’s perspective regarding a car that is inexpensive abroad, the new Duster 2025 comes to further establish itself as the best-selling SUV in the European market.

Since its launch in 2010, the Duster has sold over 2.2 million units and is expected to expand even more. Such numbers, with the arrival of the third generation that now even includes electrification focusing on high cost-benefit, the new generation of the Duster will have versions starting from less than €20,000, which will make it one of the most affordable in the European market.

New Dacia SUV Will Have a Bigger Sibling to Compete with Models like Jeep Compass, Toyota Corolla Cross, and Caoa Cherry Tigo 7 Pro

The new Dacia SUV will also have a bigger sibling to compete with models such as the Jeep Compass, Toyota Corolla Cross, and Caoa Cherry Tigo 7 Pro, focusing on cost-effectiveness. This vehicle in question is the Bigster, and it is expected to be presented in the second half of this year, with sales scheduled for 2025.

The new Duster 2025 represents a significant leap over the previous generation. With a modern and appealing design, expanded dimensions, and a host of technological features, the SUV stands out as a reliable and complete option. Furthermore, the hybrid engine ensures powerful and efficient performance, making it even more attractive to consumers.

The new generation of the Duster has everything to be a success in both the European and Brazilian markets, maintaining the cost-benefit that has always been characteristic of the brand. With affordable prices and undeniable quality, the new Duster promises to win even more admirers around the world.
