Currently, Eletrisa operates 15 plants, being seven in partnerships, with 42 MW, and eight from third parties, with 40 MW, totaling 82 MW.
Eletrisa plans to begin construction in Rio Grande do Sul, which includes: Silveira III, Cerquinha III, and Touros II, III, IV, and V. Together, the six plants will produce a total of 27 MW. The project will cost the company approximately 180 million reais in investments.
According to the director of the company, the environmental licensing for the construction of the plants is expected to be authorized this semester.
As for the licensing for the construction of the other plant, the PCH Rio do Sul, in Santa Catarina, there is still no forecast. The new project will cost Eletrisa around 55 million reais.
The executive highlights issues due to changes in state governments. Nevertheless, the support from the current state government recently ensured the approval of 15 new PCHs, totaling 39 MW.
In Santa Catarina, the businessman states that the SC Mais Energia program, which expedited processes in previous administrations, has been facing setbacks.
Silveira states that despite the difficulties, the company intends to operate in the future in the wind energy market and large hydropower plants.
Of the company’s own plants (all in partnerships) in operation, five are in Santa Catarina, one in Rio Grande do Sul, and one in Mato Grosso. Among the third-party plants operated by the company, one is in Rio Grande do Sul and seven are in Santa Catarina.
The company is composed of an association of approximately 400 investors and sells energy in the free market, having seven PCHs totaling 37 MW in licensing in southern Brazil.
