To adapt to the new pandemic-restricted economy, Petrogotas has added coronavirus combat to its service portfolio, providing sanitization services on oil platforms. To this end, the company has reinforced its specialized workforce, hiring 74 new employees and investing in new state-of-the-art equipment and products.

As a result of the current health crisis, the demand for decontamination services on oil platforms has grown exponentially over the past 12 months, accounting for 80% of the company’s total revenue.

João Paulo Gorni, founder and director of Petrogotas de Macaé, closely monitors all operations. According to him, the Oil & Gas sector, especially the offshore segment, has understood the relevance of preventing Covid-19.

Petrogotas de Macaé Provides Services to 16 Oil Platforms
Currently, Petrogotas provides services to 16 platforms, as well as a large supermarket chain. Its workers undergo new training and qualification processes periodically.
Looking towards the future, Petrogotas is already preparing for the post-pandemic scenario and has been investing in industrial painting and maintenance for the oil and gas industry. “We are not afraid of innovating. The market and the economy as a whole are dynamic; we have to keep up and adapt. And the company has this in its DNA,” says the director.
The service portfolio of Petrogotas is extensive: cleaning and sanitizing of drinking water tanks, oil, ballast, oil sludge silos, focusing on the offshore segment, as well as pest control and vector management, vertical maintenance (external cleaning of buildings and hard-to-reach spaces), and environment sanitization, which consists of the elimination of viruses and bacteria, including Covid-19.
