A Company Surprises By Launching The Smallest And Most Powerful Electric Bicycle Motor In History, Smaller Than An iPhone And Weighing Only 1.2 Kg.
Urtopia, a manufacturer of electric bicycles based in Hong Kong, unveiled the Titanium Zero during CES 2025 in Las Vegas, an electric bicycle that promises to redefine standards of lightness and technology, featuring an unprecedented bicycle motor.
Weighing only 10.8 kg, the bicycle combines cutting-edge materials and technological innovation to offer a superior riding experience.
Frame Made Of 3D Printed Titanium
A key differentiator of the Titanium Zero lies in its frame, entirely made of titanium through 3D printing.

Goodbye expensive popular car: electric vehicle for less than R$ 70,000 starts being sold in Brazil with a range of 200 km and targets those looking to escape gasoline.
This technology ensures precision in finishes and allows for a lightweight and extremely durable structure.
In addition, other components such as the fork, rims, spokes, and crankset are made of carbon fiber, further reducing the bicycle’s total weight.
The combination of titanium and carbon fiber provides a futuristic look and high performance, suitable for both professional cyclists and enthusiasts.
Quark DM1.2 Motor: The Lightest And Most Powerful On The Market
The technological highlight of the Titanium Zero is the Quark DM1.2 electric motor, developed by Urtopia itself.
Weighing only 1.2 kg, it is considered the smallest and lightest electric bicycle motor in the world. Despite its compact size, the Quark DM1.2 delivers a torque of 65 Nm, surpassing competing motors like the TQ HPR50 and Bosch Performance Line SX, which offer between 50 and 55 Nm.
This motor enables the bicycle to reach speeds of up to 25 km/h in Europe and 32 km/h in the United States, in accordance with local regulations.
Equipped with high-precision torque sensors and magnetic encoders, the Quark DM1.2 responds immediately to the cyclist’s effort, providing a natural and efficient pedal stroke.
Integrated Battery And Impressive Autonomy
The battery of the Titanium Zero is another standout feature. With lithium ions and an energy density of 300 Wh/kg, it is integrated into the bicycle’s down tube, ensuring a clean and aerodynamic design.
The estimated range is up to 120 km under ideal conditions, depending on factors such as the cyclist’s weight, terrain inclination, and the level of assistance used. The battery integration not only enhances the bicycle’s aesthetics but also contributes to its overall lightness.
In addition to the frame and motor, the Titanium Zero distinguishes itself with advanced components that accompany the model.
The bicycle is equipped with a 12-speed electronic transmission. During the presentation at CES 2025, the prototype used the Shimano Ultegra Di2 system, but Urtopia has already announced plans to integrate a SRAM transmission for future versions.
The wheels, made of carbon fiber, ensure lightness and strength, while the fork and seat post, also made from lightweight materials, complement the innovative design. This attention to detail makes the Titanium Zero one of the most advanced electric bicycles on the market.
At only 10.8 kg, the Titanium Zero breaks the paradigm that electric bicycles are heavy. The reduced weight places the model on par with conventional road bicycles, offering a smoother and more efficient riding experience, even on steeper sections.
Production And Availability
Although it generated great excitement during CES 2025, Urtopia has not revealed details about the mass production of the Titanium Zero.
The estimated cost of the model is around US$ 50,000, reflecting the use of high-quality materials and innovative technologies. For now, the bicycle is seen as a niche product, aimed at collectors and high-end enthusiasts.
However, Urtopia has expressed interest in making the Quark DM1.2 motor available to other electric bicycle manufacturers. Should this happen, it is possible that this revolutionary technology becomes more accessible in the global market.
A Milestone In Electric Bicycle Innovation
The Titanium Zero represents a milestone in the evolution of electric bicycles. The combination of lightweight materials, efficient motor, and futuristic design positions this model as an example of what modern engineering can achieve.
During CES 2025, experts highlighted the balance between functionality and aesthetics, making the Titanium Zero one of the most talked-about products of the event.
