Through the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) Program, 15 companies are participating in the fair; Argentina was the destination for 15% of Brazilian machinery and equipment exports from the sector in 2021, totaling US$14.1 million in transactions
Argenplás, the international plastics fair, takes place from June 6 to 9 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The event features more than 180 exhibitors from Argentina and 10 other countries, showcasing their products to an estimated audience of 18,000 professionals. This year’s focus will be on the circular economy, innovation, and the environment. Through the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) program, a result of the partnership between ApexBrasil and ABIMAQ, 15 Brazilian companies were selected to participate in the fair.
The event occurs every two years and is aimed at the sectors of machinery and equipment, automation and quality control, molds and tools, raw materials and chemicals, rubber, plastic transformers, finished and semi-finished products, as well as entities, associations, banks, services, and technical magazines.

One of the participating companies is Piovan, a multinational operating across all South American countries and participating in Argenplás since 2006. In this edition, the company will present products focused on feeding, dosing, and dehumidification systems. Among them are the Easy 3 System Feeders, which bring a new concept in material feeding and centralized control, available in three versions of receivers. The range includes special versions for processing materials at high temperatures or abrasives, and it is constructed from stainless steel.
Another launch from Piovan is the MDW 150 Gravimetric Doser, a gravimetric dosing unit equipped with a pneumatic guillotine or dosing screw. The product doses up to six types of granulated materials. The doser is considered ideal for injection, blow, and extrusion processes. Its benefits include customized configuration, precise dosing, and high repeatability of the process, along with homogeneous mixing in each batch.
New Products from Mecalor
Mecalor, a leading company in thermal engineering solutions by developing chillers for various segments of the industry, will showcase three products. These are chillers with cutting-edge technology for application by the local plastics industry.
A conventional chiller with a capacity of 3 TRs, another of 5 TRs, and a third of 10 TRs. All of these machines are important for the refrigeration of the industrial process of plastic transformation. The company will also take the opportunity to promote the Turbocor Chiller, which provides greater energy efficiency due to the oil-free magnetic bearing centrifugal compressor technology.
Founded in 1960, Mecalor has been active in the foreign market for about 20 years. Currently, the company exports about 20% of its production. This percentage has been increasing over the years due to active commercial work in Latin American markets, particularly the Mexico branch, which was inaugurated in 2019.
International Business
Among the largest importers of machinery and equipment for the plastics, packaging, and printing industries are the United States, Argentina, and Peru. In 2021, the United States imported 16% of Brazilian machinery, totaling US$15 million.
During the same period, Argentina accounted for 15%, with US$14.1 million. Peru imported US$7.6 million over the year.
Other countries that stand out in the negotiation of Brazilian machinery for the sector include the United Kingdom, which saw a variation of 79.6% in its total imports between 2020 and 2021, amounting to US$7.3 million; and Chile, which last year accounted for a total of US$6.4 million.
