US Companies Hire Brazilian Programmers With Salaries Up to US$ 110K Per Year; Hires Grow Almost 500% Since 2022.
The global technology market is experiencing a unique moment, and Brazilian programmers have become key players in this transformation. In the last three years, the hiring of local professionals by foreign companies has grown almost 500%, according to a survey by the TechFX platform. Today, 85% of Brazilians working for international tech companies are based in the United States, where average salaries reach US$ 110K annually.
Recognition of Brazilian Developers Abroad
The study shows that of the 1,428 developers interviewed, 1,220 are employed by North American organizations. Followed by Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom, each with a 1.85% share. This movement is directly linked to the labor shortage in IT in the United States and the quality of education of Brazilian technology professionals.
According to JetBrains, Brazil currently has around 630,000 software developers, ranking fifth in the world. Despite this significant number, the country still faces an estimated 500,000 talent deficit in IT, a scenario that contributes to foreign interest in recruiting local workers.

Explosion of International Hires
Between 2020 and 2023, the hiring of Brazilians by international companies increased by 491%, according to the Brazilian Global Salary study. This growth parallels global demand, which advances 40% per year, reflecting the search for creative and adaptable professionals, traits often associated with Brazilian tech talent.
Another factor that makes programmers abroad even more valued is the depreciation of the real. With salaries paid in dollars, euros, or pounds, the income of these professionals becomes much more attractive, especially when compared to average values practiced in Brazil.
Top Destinations for Brazilian Talent on the Rise
In addition to the US, which hires about 200,000 IT professionals annually, other countries stand out as relevant options:
- Germany: the largest hub in continental Europe, with 832,000 developers and an average annual salary of US$ 52.2K. Immigration programs facilitate the entry of Brazilians.
- Canada: with 632,000 developers and about 80,000 open positions, it offers an average salary of US$ 61.6K and flexible immigration policies.
- United Kingdom: hosts 500,000 IT professionals, mainly in London, with an average annual remuneration of US$ 55.2K.
- Australia and Argentina: emerge as smaller markets but also absorb professionals seeking new experiences.
Career in Technology: Desire to Migrate Grows Among Brazilians
The TechFX survey also revealed that 73% of IT professionals in Brazil consider working abroad. The combination of attractive salaries, greater professional recognition, and the possibility of working for global companies helps explain this desire.
Experts say that Brazil has ideal conditions to train highly skilled labor, but still faces internal challenges, such as a lack of incentive for innovation and low job availability in certain regions.
Outlook for the Coming Years
The scenario points to a clear trend: Brazilian IT professionals will continue to be in demand in the international market. The demand for programmers abroad is expected to remain strong, and the expectation is that more and more companies will seek remote workers, expanding job opportunities without the immediate need to relocate.
Experts assert that the combination of solid technical training, adaptability, and creativity places Brazilians among the most sought after in the global technology market.
Conversely, this movement also creates an internal challenge: the flight of talent may exacerbate the labor shortage in IT in Brazil, impacting the competitiveness of the national sector.
What do you think, will the growing international demand for Brazilian programmers incentivize Brazil to invest more in technological education and talent retention, or will the country continue to be an exporter of skilled labor?
