Connected kitchen technology advances with smart pot that combines induction, pressure, and automation to speed up the preparation of rice and recipes in daily life, integrating remote control, enhanced safety, and advanced materials in a single appliance.

Xiaomi has expanded its connected home line with the Mijia Smart IH Rice Cooker P1, an electric rice cooker with induction heating, app control, and a pressure system that raises the internal temperature to about 105°C, according to the manufacturer.

The model first hit the Chinese market and features automation, quick preparation, and integration with the brand’s home ecosystem.

Product proposal and limits in stove replacement

The launch reinforces the company’s strategy to bring connectivity to appliances beyond the most common kitchen items, but the product does not technically replace a conventional stove in all functions.

In practice, it is a smart rice cooker designed to prepare rice and other recipes compatible with this type of appliance, with an emphasis on thermal precision and remote operation.

Induction heating and more uniform thermal control

Among the main differentiators is the use of the IH (induction) system, which heats the container more uniformly than models with resistance concentrated only at the base.

Xiaomi's smart pot uses IH induction, pressure, and app to prepare up to 16 servings in 24 minutes with automatic control and high precision.

According to information released by Xiaomi, this three-dimensional heat distribution aims to reduce overheating points and improve the final texture of the grains during cooking.

In addition to induction heating, the pot works with a 1.2x pressure system, a combination that, according to the company, allows reaching approximately 105°C inside the container.

This level favors a more efficient absorption of water by the rice, which helps deliver a more uniform result, especially in preparations that require fine control of time, temperature, and humidity.

Automation with 10 smart cooking levels

Xiaomi also claims to have incorporated a smart cooking curve in 10 stages, capable of automatically adjusting heat, pressure, and cooking duration according to the type of rice and the amount of water used.

Instead of operating with a fixed routine, the equipment modulates the steps to reduce manual interference and maintain greater consistency across different recipes.

In quick mode, the manufacturer states that the pot can complete cooking in 24 minutes, without compromising the cooking standard it tries to replicate in longer cycles.

This time places the appliance among models aimed at everyday convenience, especially in kitchens where the goal is to simplify repetitive tasks and concentrate control in a few commands.

Titanium structure and focus on durability

The internal structure is another point used by the brand to differentiate the product.

The container has 2.5 millimeter walls and uses a multi-layer construction with titanium, stainless steel for food contact, a crystalline protective layer, and an aluminum base for thermal conduction.

In this set, Xiaomi also highlights the adoption of a fluorine-free non-stick surface, a choice that aligns with a broader movement in the household utensils sector towards alternative materials.

The manufacturer focuses its discourse on durability, safety of use, and thermal stability of the container.

High capacity and preparation for larger families

The stated capacity for the main version is 4 liters, yielding up to 16 bowls of rice per preparation.

This specification indicates a device aimed at larger families or for the advance preparation of meals, although the equivalence between volume and number of servings may vary depending on the serving size.

App control, cloud recipes, and voice commands

In the field of connectivity, the pot can be linked to the Mijia app, a platform used by Xiaomi to concentrate smart home functions.

Through the app, the user can start or schedule cooking remotely, adjust the desired texture of the rice, and access over 100 cloud recipes.

The model also offers compatibility with the voice assistant XiaoAI, a feature that reinforces integration with other brand devices already present in the home environment.

On the front, Xiaomi included an LED screen to display the cooking progress.

Meanwhile, the interior of the container features water level markings that help standardize preparation.

Enhanced safety and compact construction

The company claims to have installed six safety mechanisms, including a relief valve, safety valve, pressure control, and lid lock during pressurized operation.

These items are especially relevant in devices that combine intense heating and internal pressure, reducing the risk of operation outside the parameters defined by the manufacturer.

In dimensions, the product specifications indicate 252.5 x 302.5 x 221 millimeters, numbers that place the pot in the range of compact countertop appliances, despite the high capacity.

The set was presented with a sober look and white finish, a recurring standard in devices from the Mijia line.

Price and availability in the market

Currently, the Mijia Smart IH Rice Cooker P1 is on sale in China for 1,099 yuan, an amount equivalent to about R$ 823, not including taxes and import fees.

The sale occurs through JD.com, and so far there has been no official announcement of a global launch or availability in the Brazilian market.

The launch shows how Xiaomi is trying to transform a traditional appliance into another entry point for its connected platform, combining automation, differentiated materials, and remote control in a single product.
