Recently, the governor of Pernambuco, Paulo Câmara, signed a contract for a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with the energy company Enerfín do Brasil. The company was the winner of the auction for the development of a new solar power plant in the region. Thus, it will invest R$ 380 million for the implementation works of the new state enterprise.

Enerfín do Brasil has just signed an important new contract for the solar energy generation market in the Northeast of Brazil.
The PPP partnership with the Government of Pernambuco will enable the installation of a new solar power generation plant in the region. It will count on investments of R$ 380 million throughout its development.

Thus, the Government of Pernambuco invests not only in sustainability and environmental commitment but also in cost reduction, as the solar power plant project will reduce electricity costs by 20% in the state.
“The renewable energy PPP is an innovative project by the State of Pernambuco. The first of its kind in Brazil that allows saving on energy bills and promoting the production of renewable energy in our State,” said Governor Paulo Câmara.
He also emphasized that this is the time to make strong investments in the renewable energy market and take advantage of the sector’s growth.
Meanwhile, the Executive Secretary of Partnerships and Strategies, Marcelo Bruto, stated, “The partnership will involve an investment of nearly R$ 400 million. The concessionaire’s forecast is to start the works already in the first half of next year and its operations in 2024.”
The million-dollar investments by Enerfín do Brasil will also contribute to the development of new job opportunities throughout the state of Pernambuco in the coming years.
Enerfín do Brasil Will Be Responsible for Developing, Building, and Operating the New Solar Power Plant Project in the State of Pernambuco
According to the PPP agreement between Enerfín do Brasil and the Government of Pernambuco, the solar power plant will be installed in the municipality of Salgueiro, Central Sertão. It should be ready 36 months after the project’s start.
In addition, the company will be responsible for constructing, operating, and maintaining the photovoltaic renewable energy generation plant. It will also manage consumer units of the State of Pernambuco in the Free Contracting Environment (ACL).
Enerfín do Brasil will also involve the migration of consumers to the free contracting environment by the seventh month of the contract.
Thus, the Government of Pernambuco aims to boost the local economy and attract new investments to the state market.
Consequently, the solar power plant project will also benefit the headquarters of state secretariats and units of indirect administration, such as Detran, Hemope, and the Technology Information Agency (ATI).
At the opening ceremony of the PPP, state secretaries Alexandre Rebelo (Planning and Management) and Marília Lins (Administration) were present, as well as Administration Executive Ronaldo Acioly and the Director of Partnerships and Concessions of Seplag, Marcelo Sandes.
