The CEO, Pedro Zinner, Commented on the Expectations of the Purchase of the Enel Brasil Plant for the Northeastern Hub and Said That “The Acquisition of Termofortaleza Is Part of Eneva’s Strategy to Expand Its Business Portfolio and Consolidate Itself as One of the Largest Private Energy Suppliers in the Country. The Company’s Mission Is to Lead the Brazilian Energy Transition, with Capital Discipline and the Best Possible Resource Allocation.”
The Termofortaleza Plant Is One of the Most Relevant Assets in the Cearense Energy Landscape and Currently Has a Contract with the Distributor Companhia Energética do Ceará, Valid Until 2023.
For Comparison, Just During the Year 2021, the Thermoelectric Plant Registered Net Operating Revenue of R$ 1.7 billion and EBITDA of R$ 580 million and Has an Installed Capacity of 327 Megawatts (MW). Thus, Eneva Takes a Strong Leap Regarding Its Energy Production Hub in the Northeastern States of Brazil, Now Focusing on New Assets in the Area.
Purchase of Termofortaleza Reinforces the Company’s Role in the Natural Gas Energy Production Market in Brazil and Will Contribute to Growth in the Sector
In Addition to the Payment of R$ 489.8 Million in Transaction with Enel Brasil, Eneva Will Make Payments Conditional on the Future Recontracting of the Thermoelectric Plant After the Current Contract Expires in 2023, Expected to Be Approximately R$ 97 Million.
The Purchase of the Termofortaleza Plant This Month Was Another Move by the Company in the Natural Gas Energy Production Market, Reinforcing the Importance of This Source to Ensure Electricity Supply in the Region.
This Is Just Another of the Company’s Deals in the Field, As in June This Year, Eneva Presented a Proposal to Acquire Centrais Elétricas de Sergipe Participações S.A (CELSEPAR) to Purchase the Porto de Sergipe Plant for R$ 6.1 Billion (Approximately US$ 1.27 Billion). The Thermoelectric Plant Is One of the Largest in Latin America and Has a Capacity of 1.6 Gigawatts (GW) of Energy Production.
Now, With This New Acquisition and Its Assets Already Operating in the National Market, Eneva’s Energy Hub in the Northeast Region of Brazil Is Becoming Even Closer to Being Fully Consolidated.
