Nova Engevix receives the green light from Petrobras and can already participate in the state-owned company’s tenders. The company took almost a year to exit Petrobras’ “blacklist.” In November 2019, the company signed a leniency agreement for 516 million reais and had been awaiting clearance since then. With a compliance program that meets all requirements, Engevix’s next step is to start the process of requalifying the company within Petrobras in order to become a regular supplier.

According to Engevix’s Business Development Director, Luiz Fernando Pugliesi, Petrobras’ approval is creating expectations for the construction company, which is already planning to close its first contract this year after the unlocking.

“The year 2020 marks the effective restart of Nova Engevix’s positioning in the market. By the end of the year, we will strive to secure a contract in the oil and gas sector. For 2021, we are optimistic about building a portfolio of contracts in this sector,” he stated.

Currently, Nova Engevix’s focus of interest with Petrobras is to conduct business in the areas of refining and natural gas. In general, industrial process units, gas treatment, processes within refineries, revamp of units, and pipeline areas.

Specifically speaking about the natural gas market, the company seeks some opportunities with other companies such as Shell. As is known in the market, Petrobras recently signed an agreement allowing other companies to use the infrastructure of the natural gas flow and processing system.

The decommissioning activity also attracts the construction company’s interest, which is eyeing a Petrobras unit at the Cabiúnas Terminal. According to the company, the state-owned company announced this competition, but it was postponed.

“By the end of the year, we will fight to secure a contract in the oil and gas sector. For 2021, we are optimistic about building a portfolio of contracts in this sector,” Pugliesi says.
