Unique Opportunity from THE FEDERAL INSTITUTE Offers Tuition-Free, 100% Online Graduate Courses in Relevant Areas, With 450 Spots and Selection by Lottery.
THE FEDERAL INSTITUTE of Mato Grosso do Sul is accepting enrollments for three Tuition-Free GRADUATE COURSES, fully online and aimed at those looking to specialize without leaving home and, of course, at no cost. These courses are perfect for those who have completed their undergraduate studies and want to take the next step in their careers. In total, there are 450 spots equally distributed among the three courses, which will start at the end of November this year.
The major difference of this project is the convenience: in addition to being online, the selection of spots will be made by electronic lottery, ensuring equal opportunities for all candidates who meet the basic requirements. This initiative is carried out in partnership with the Open University System of Brazil (UAB), strengthening THE FEDERAL INSTITUTE’s commitment to democratizing access to quality education.
Expanding Access to Specialized Higher Education
The initiative from THE FEDERAL INSTITUTE comes at a time of high demand for qualification, especially in specific areas such as education and environmental conservation. The Tuition-Free GRADUATE COURSES have been structured to meet this need, training professionals for the job market and promoting knowledge in essential sectors. Each course has a substantial workload and is organized in a distance learning format, using the Moodle platform to facilitate students’ access.

The teaching process will be entirely online, allowing students to attend classes and submit activities at a flexible pace without compromising quality. This is ideal for those with a busy routine who still want to specialize. And the best part: the certificate is recognized by the Ministry of Education, which adds weight to the resume and increases opportunities in the job market.
Courses Offered
The courses focus on three areas of great importance, with different fields of action. Each graduate course offers a comprehensive approach aimed at developing specific competencies. Check out the list of courses offered by THE FEDERAL INSTITUTE:
- Strategies for Nature Conservation: With a workload of 400 hours plus 60 hours dedicated to the Course Completion Work (TCC), this course is ideal for those wanting to work in environmental preservation. Priority for spots will be given to public agents at federal, state, and municipal levels.
- Teaching in Professional and Technological Education: This course, with 360 hours, aims to train specialists to teach in the professional and technological fields. Basic Education teachers have priority for this training, which also guarantees a certificate at the end.
- Education, Diversity, and Social Inclusion: With a workload of 360 hours and an additional 60 hours for the TCC, this course is aimed at those who want to understand and apply inclusive practices in educational settings. As with the previous course, there is priority for Basic Education professionals.
These programs are a great opportunity for those looking to specialize in high-demand and socially relevant topics. The courses also offer flexibility in completion time, varying from 18 to 24 months, ensuring a deep and well-organized learning experience.
How the Selection Process Works
The selection process for THE FEDERAL INSTITUTE’s Tuition-Free GRADUATE COURSES is simple and accessible. If the number of candidates exceeds the total number of spots, selection will be made through an electronic lottery, ensuring complete transparency and equal chances for all. Registrations are free, and there is no need for payments throughout the course.
Each course has a specific number of spots per center, with 30 spots for each. If spots remain, they can be filled by candidates who are not in the priority group (public agents or Basic Education teachers), provided that half of the spots have already been filled by priority professionals.
Classes will start at the end of November, so it’s an excellent opportunity for those wanting to begin their studies this year. Activities will be conducted in the virtual learning environment (AVA), using the Moodle platform, which offers support for developing the proposed activities and allows continuous contact with teachers and fellow students.
How to Enroll
To apply, simply visit THE FEDERAL INSTITUTE’s website and fill out the application form. The deadline for registration is November 5, so it’s important not to wait until the last minute. On November 12, the electronic lottery for spots will be held, and enrollment will also be conducted online. Classes will begin on November 30, marking the start of the learning cycle.
