According to the Metalworkers’ Union of Angra dos Reis, the naval industry is finally showing signs of recovery after six years in crisis and at least 10,000 employees laid off. The Brasfels shipyard in Angra dos Reis alone has opened more than 1,700 job positions, and best of all, there are still available spots. The collective labor agreement for 2019/2020 for metalworkers in Angra dos Reis and the surrounding area has been finalized. In a meeting held at the entrance of the Brasfels shipyard this past Monday, 01/07/2019, the category unanimously approved the proposal presented by the union. The proposal for 100% of the INPC 5.07% for wages and a meal ticket that will be R$493.84 was approved, with the ticket doubled during vacations and in December. The company will also address the situation of helpers and semi-officials with a meeting already scheduled to discuss the matter.
