Partner Company of Ecovix Hosts Meeting and Estaleiro Rio Grande Feels Optimistic About Possible Resumption After Visit
Estaleiro Rio Grande (RS) experienced a day of great optimism last Thursday (06/20) following a visit from a delegation of investors representing six countries, including Brazil.
The visit was promoted by Agrodock, a partner company of Ecovix, and brought executives from 13 national and international companies operating in the naval and cargo handling market.
The visitors had the opportunity to tour the shipyard’s facilities and examine the investment and business opportunities that could develop at the site.
The dock for port operations and cargo transportation (wood) already has the permission of the Legislative Assembly of Rio Grande, in addition to shipbuilding and repairs were some of the businesses that could be carried out from the Estaleiro’s facilities and caught the investors’ attention.

Brazilian investors also attended, such as the Demuth and Sagres groups, and by next week, the participants of the visit should submit letters of intent for potential business.
Judicial Recovery
Estaleiro Rio Grande, controlled by Ecovix, entered judicial recovery in 2016 after Petrobras canceled contracts for the manufacture of oil platforms, even though the shipyard had delivered 5 units.
The interest from investors is considered crucial in the company’s recovery process, which has reported that it is strictly fulfilling all its obligations assumed in the recovery process, such as cleaning the area and paying creditors and employees.
In order to raise cash, the shipyard has been auctioning off the structures of platforms P-71 and P-72, which consist of approximately 100 thousand tons of steel, and are being dismantled, generating about 400 jobs.
