With 220% Growth in Exports, Brazilian Shipyards Expand Presence in the US and Aim for Global Leadership in the Luxury Nautical Sector
Brazilian shipyards are betting big on the U.S. market to boost exports of yachts and luxury vessels. The goal is to transform the national nautical sector into a global reference, much like what Embraer represents for aviation.
According to the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), Americans are expected to spend US$ 55 billion on boats and yachts in 2025. This amount represents nearly 5% more than the previous year, showing an expanding market that attracts Brazilian companies.
Some shipyards in Brazil have already opened sales points in the United States. With this strategy, they have managed to even double their export volume.

The Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) reported that, in just the first quarter of 2025, exports of boats to the US totaled US$ 12 million. This figure represents a growth of 220% compared to the same period the previous year.
One of the highlights is Triton Yachts, a Brazilian company with over 40 years in the sector. The manufacturer has already exported eight vessels to the United States this year alone. Throughout 2024, 27 units were sent to the country.
The brand has been strengthening its international operations since 2022. Since then, Triton has delivered over 50 vessels to the U.S. market.
Currently, the United States represents about 40% of all production destined for export from the Brazilian manufacturer. This information was confirmed by Allan Cechelero, the company’s marketing director.
The growing presence in the U.S. strengthens the ambition of national shipyards to expand production and establish Brazil as a powerhouse in the international nautical sector.
