Eve’s Electric Aircraft, a Subsidiary of Embraer, Has Already Accumulated 2,800 Orders and Is Expected to Operate in 2026
The future of urban air mobility is getting closer — and with Brazilian prominence. Eve Air Mobility, a company created by Embraer in 2020, presented new details about its eVTOL, an electric vehicle for vertical takeoff and landing, during an event hosted by Bradesco BBI, according to the website Isto É.
The company expects to begin operations in 2026, focusing on short-distance air transport, low noise, and no local pollutant emissions.
Strong Demand and Financial Projections for Embraer
According to Eve executives, the model already has 2,800 units ordered by 28 customers in 9 countries, with the potential to generate up to US$ 14 billion in net revenue.

One of the most promising routes, according to the company, is the Faria Lima–Guarulhos Airport route, which could be completed in just 13 minutes. By road, the same route can take over two hours.

Eve’s Senior Vice President, Luís Carlos Affonso, highlighted that the main current challenge is developing the production line, with requirements different from traditional aviation, especially in components such as batteries, motors, and propellers.
Eve plans to operate in major urban centers such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Miami, London, and Bangalore. Among the confirmed partners are:
- United Airlines
- BAE Systems
- Helisul
- Blade
- Avantto
In Rio de Janeiro, for example, the estimate is up to 245 aircraft in operation, with over 100 routes and 4.5 million passengers per year, which could generate US$ 220 million in annual revenue.
Projections and Certifications for Embraer’s eVTOL
Eve was listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2022 and is considered one of Embraer’s biggest bets for the future. The estimated cost of each eVTOL ranges between US$ 2 million and US$ 4 million.
The operation also depends on certifications from regulatory agencies, such as Anac (National Civil Aviation Agency) and FAA (Federal Aviation Administration of the USA), expected by 2026.
