Amphibious Superjeeps
The designation “Guaicurus” is a tribute to a warrior indigenous tribe from the Central-West region of Brazil, famous for its horseback riding skills and attack tactics. This name was not chosen by chance, as it reflects the robustness and combat capability of these vehicles.
According to the cited newspaper, each Guaicurus comes equipped with a diesel engine, tire pressure control system, smoke grenade launcher, and automatic transmission.
These vehicles have the capacity to transport five people, carry up to 1,000 kg, and reach a maximum speed of 90 km/h. In addition, they can be equipped with machine guns on the roof and have space to carry various ammunition and grenades.
The armor of the Guaicurus is one of its main highlights. According to specialists, it is of a high level, resisting 7.62 caliber shots. The vehicle also features special protection against explosions from below, including the fuel tank, which increases the crew’s safety in combat situations.
The automated weapon systems of the Guaicurus allow for target detection at long distances, even in low visibility conditions. The manufacturer Iveco assures that these vehicles are ready to face the most extreme challenges.
