Do You Know What Has Been Happening in Essequibo? This Conflict Could Put South America in a Pickle and the Brazilian Army Is Not Joking Around.
Brazilian Army has just announced that they will send drones armed with missiles to the Amazon border. That’s right, a Brazilian drone, entirely made here in our backyard, will patrol the region.
The tension between Venezuela and Guyana, known as the Essequibo Crisis, is heating up and could even attract superpowers like the USA, China, and Russia to our Amazon. Keeping an eye on this, the Brazilian Army is reinforcing the northern border. They had already sent soldiers and armored combat vehicles, and now the new addition is the armed drones. These drones are part of Operation Roraima, which is focused on increasing military presence in the Amazon region.
Meet the Nauru 1000C Drone of the Brazilian Army
This drone is not just any drone; it is the SARP Nauru 1000C, developed by the Brazilian company XMobots. With nearly eight meters wingspan, three meters in length, and capable of flying up to 110 km/h for 10 hours, it is perfect for missions in the Amazon. Equipped with eight motors and independent batteries, it can take off and land vertically even in adverse conditions such as light rain and fog.

100% National Technology
The drones are a very important technological advancement for the Brazilian Army. They will enhance tactical missions of surveillance, security, and border monitoring. Recently, 21 military personnel underwent rigorous nine-month training to operate these aircraft. The first delivery includes three drones and a mobile base with ground control stations, stabilizers, and radars. This robust equipment is vital for operations in the region.
Brazilian Army Missions with Drones
The drones are part of three strategic programs of the Brazilian Army: Integrated Border Monitoring System, AvEx (Army Aviation), and Astros. They are controlled from a container equipped with ground control stations, cameras, and monitors that transmit images in real-time, ensuring uninterrupted communication during operations.
So that’s it, folks. The Brazilian Army is keeping an eye on the security of our border and investing heavily in national technology. With these armed drones, the defense of the Amazon gains extra strength. And what do you think about this initiative?
