Graphene and niobium battery will revolutionize the automotive industry, according to the current Brazilian president

“Niobium is an ore that, together with graphene, is capable of producing wonders for the world in all sectors, even with regard to trinkets. What is coming out of the drawing board is not part of our participation, but we are very proud of it. It is the graphene and niobium super-battery, which will certainly revolutionize the automotive industry in the world. And we have it in abundance”, he highlighted, after receiving from the hands of the Minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque, a coin made of niobium.

Even before assuming the Presidency of the Republic, Bolsonaro was already extolling niobium as a great wealth to be exploited in the country. At the ceremony, the president welcomed the presence of ambassadors and assured that he dreams of “more than commodities, really adding value to what we have for the future”.

Niobium and graphene play an important step towards the future

In 2016, the Brazilian Federal Government and Japan also signed a contract to apply investments in the Brazilian infrastructure industry.

Since 2016, the Brazilian federal government together with Japan has been establishing continuous partnerships both in the renewable energy industry, mining and currently the new market strategies involving niobium and graphene.

Last year, Japan invested R$ 1,5 million to support the technological base of niobium and graphene. It is also worth mentioning that niobium is a strategic mineral for the Brazilian market, currently Brazil produces 86% of this material and Japan is a partner, which exports 9,6% of ferroniobium.
