Dodge Power Wagon – The Rescue
The YouTube channel Budget Buildz was assigned the mission of trying to recover the vehicle. The initial scenario was not the best:
- The bodywork was full of dents and covered in rust.
- The tires were sunk into the ground, practically integrated into the forest.
- The engine was completely inactive, with no signs of life.
Still, the restorers were determined to try to start the engine again.
First Adjustments and Surprises in the Process
After removing the dirt and conducting a more detailed inspection, the group discovered that the situation was not as bad as it seemed. The rust had not compromised the entire structure, and the interior was relatively preserved.
The biggest challenge was under the hood. The small-block V8 needed repairs before any attempt to start it.
To revive the truck, the restorers obtained:
- New oil for engine lubrication.
- Minor mechanical adjustments to prevent failures.
When everything was ready, it was time for the big test.
Engine Started, But Problems Persist
Against all expectations, the Dodge Power Wagon started. The sound of the engine echoed again, proving that the classic still had power stored.
However, the vehicle was not ready to hit the road. Some serious mechanical problems arose:
- Transmission leak, compromising stability.
- Components damaged by time, requiring replacement.
Even so, the enthusiasts believe that, with more repairs, the Dodge will be able to drive again soon. A true rebirth for a truck that was once a star on screen. Watch the video below of the rescue. The video is in English, but you can turn on the subtitles.
