The expectation is based on a study conducted by the Industry Observatory in partnership with the Federation of Industries of Espírito Santo (Findes).

Meanwhile, Cris Samorini, president of Findes, emphasized that the projections presented during the launch of the Oil and Natural Gas Industry Yearbook show, according to her, the importance of the production chain of these mineral commodities for the development of ES.
Although the state has some numbers that have regressed in recent years, there is a large projection of growth in something that the government knows represents a substantial number for Espírito Santo as a whole. This highlights it nationally, in addition to generating new opportunities to attract new industries and companies, even creating new job vacancies for the population.
Oil and Natural Gas Sector Represents 20% of the State’s Economy
Also commenting on the expectations for the oil and gas market in ES for the coming years was Governor Renato Casagrande (PSB), who was present at the launch ceremony of the yearbook. Casagrande states that the oil and natural gas sector is essential for ES, representing 20% of the state’s economy.
There are public and private investments that will help develop the regions, such as the newly inaugurated gas pipeline Linhares, from ES Gás, which connected the city’s urban distribution network to the gas transportation structure, and the pipeline linking São Mateus to a nearby truck industry located in the northern part of the municipality.
Casagrande highlights that these are some examples of actions that the government of ES is monitoring, planning, and delivering so that the sector can generate more jobs and income for the people of Espírito Santo, as well as create more vacancies for its companies.
More Than 87 Million Barrels of Oil Are Projected for 2027
The positive outlook for new investments in ES mainly revolves around the implementation of eight projects led by the companies Prio, Shell, Petrobras, Oil and Gas, and Seacrest Petróleo. Among the initiatives is the construction of an exploratory drillship focused on drilling and oil extraction in Aracruz. The investments are from Petrobras and the project is already under execution.
During the launch of the Oil Industry Yearbook, projections were also presented for oil and gas production in the state between the years 2023 and 2027. The expectation is that during this period there will be an average annual expansion of 10.7% in offshore oil production in the state, totaling 87.8 million barrels over the next 4 years.
