Government of Sergipe and AdoraPet Join Forces to Expand Snack Factory, Creating Over One Thousand Direct Jobs in the State by 2025.

The Government of Sergipe, in partnership with the company AdoraPet, part of the Upper Dog group, announced last Monday, (07/22), a major industrial expansion project with a new snack factory that promises to create over one thousand direct job openings in the state. The meeting was attended by Governor Fábio Mitidieri, mayors of the benefiting municipalities, and representatives from the Sergipe Development Agency (Desenvolve-SE).

Expansion and Job Creation at the Snack Factory

Governor Fábio Mitidieri highlighted the importance of this partnership for the economic development of the state.

“This is yet another action by the State Government with tax incentives so that we can create opportunities. I would like to thank AdoraPet for the partnership, for believing in and investing in our state,” said Mitidieri.

The CEO of Upper Dog, Manoel Moacir Souza, shared his positive expectations regarding the expansion.

Currently, the company employs 110 people in Sergipe, but the target is to reach one thousand direct jobs, with 65% of the workforce being female.

The production of the factory is expected to reach 100 tons per day, with 80% destined for export and 20% for the domestic market.

“We got to know Sergipe through the Desenvolve-SE Agency, and we will spare no effort to increase production and generate many jobs. We decided to invest here due to the possibility of doing an M&A process, an acquisition of AdoraPet. It was an already existing plant here, and it was a very positive surprise because of the skilled workforce, availability of raw materials, and very rapid growth capacity,” explained Souza.

Economic Impact of the New Snack Factory

Milton Andrade, president of Desenvolve-SE, emphasized the economic benefits that the expansion will bring to the region and how it will create new job openings.

“Desenvolve-SE doesn’t stop, and this is yet another of the acts it has made, another delivery for the Sergipe population. AdoraPet and Upper Dog, which primarily manufacture chewable products, have been operating in Sergipe for just over two years, generating a little over 100 jobs, and now, through the partnership with the State Government, they will expand production, generating an average of one thousand jobs in the Agreste region,” said Andrade.

Benefits for the Municipalities

The mayors of the benefiting municipalities also expressed enthusiasm for the expansion. The mayor of São Domingos, José Vagner Alves de Oliveira, known as ‘Binho,’ highlighted the importance of the new jobs for the local population.

“I am very happy to be a part of this, because I know the job generation this will bring to our municipality. This company will bring benefits to our region, generating around one thousand direct jobs. This is a very important milestone for our municipalities,” assessed Binho.

Marcel Souza, mayor of Campo do Brito, also emphasized the positive economic impact of the expansion and the new job openings.

“This is a significant turning point for the region. I am sure that job generation is one of the priorities of the Government of Sergipe, and this news comes at the right time because there is indeed a great number of people looking for work in the region. I am confident that there will be success, with a capable, skilled workforce eager to produce and work,” assured Souza.

AdoraPet and the Future

The investment in Sergipe is part of a larger strategy to strengthen the presence of the company in the market and meet the growing demand for its products.

The expansion of the pet snack factory will not only create over one thousand direct job openings in Sergipe but also significantly contribute to the local economy and offer new opportunities for the population.

With the expansion of the facilities and the increase in production, AdoraPet consolidates itself as an important employer in the region, highlighting the collaboration between the private sector and the government to promote economic development.
