National Announcement Offers 620 Spots in Hybrid Master’s Program, Focusing on Ongoing Training of Public School Teachers and Research on Inclusive Pedagogical Practices. Course Lasts 24 Months and Certification Recognized by CAPES.

The Graduate Program in Inclusive Education (Profei) published Announcement No. 08/2025 for admission in 2026, offering 620 spots nationwide.

Applications are entirely online until September 29, 2025, at 4:59 PM (Brasília time), and are aimed at Basic Education teachers from the public network currently in service.

The course, recognized by CAPES, is offered in hybrid format and has a maximum duration of 24 months, conferring the title of Master in Inclusive Education.

Target Audience and Participation Requirements

The selection process is aimed at teachers with a higher education diploma registered with the MEC who work as classroom teachers in the municipal, state, or federal public network.

A minimum workload of 20 hours per week and activity in regular classrooms or in specialized educational assistance are required.

Participation requires the electronic submission of the documentation outlined in the announcement, including proof of employment, diploma and academic transcript, and the research project to be developed during the master’s program.

How Selection Works

The evaluation is organized into four stages.

The first is verification of applications, which checks compliance with prerequisites and the consistency of the submitted documents, and is eliminatory in nature.

Next is the document analysis for scoring, a classificatory stage that considers, among other criteria, ongoing training and length of service.

The research project is examined for its relevance and alignment with the program’s lines, with both eliminatory and classificatory aspects.

Finally, the interview deepens the discussion on the project and the academic and professional motivations of the candidate, also bearing eliminatory and classificatory character.

Deadlines and Schedule of the Announcement

The announcement was published on September 8, 2025.

Applications and document submissions began on September 11 and end on September 29, 2025.

The application fee can be paid until September 30.

Verification of applications occurs from October 1 to 14, with results expected on October 15 and an appeal period between October 16 and 17.

The document analysis for scoring is scheduled from October 17 to 26, with results on October 27 and appeals on October 28 and 29.

The evaluation of projects takes place from November 4 to 16, with results announced on November 17 and a window for appeals on November 18 and 19.

The interviews are scheduled from November 25 to December 5, with preliminary results on December 8, an appeal period on December 9 and 10, and the final result published on December 19, 2025.

Research Lines and Academic Focus

Profei has a concentration area in Inclusive Education and three complementary research lines.

In Special Education from the Perspective of Inclusive Education, the candidate investigates fundamentals, policies, and practices that connect Special Education to the construction of truly inclusive school environments.

In Technological Innovation and Assistive Technology, the focus is on digital technologies, active methodologies, games, and assistive technology resources applied to teaching, emphasizing inclusion and accessibility.

Practices and Formative Processes for Educators in Inclusive Education addresses pedagogical practices, initial and ongoing teacher training, and curricular innovations to meet student diversity and educational needs.

Spots, Affirmative Actions, and Distribution

Of the 620 spots offered for 2026, 517 are for general competition, and 103 are reserved for affirmative actions, with rules and documentation specified in the announcement.

Competition and classification occur by participating Higher Education Institution in the national network, according to the availability of supervisors and the adherence of the submitted project.

Course Structure and Certification

The training proposal combines synchronous remote meetings and in-person sessions, organized by the associated institution and the responsible faculty.

Upon completing academic activities and the thesis within the regulatory period, the student obtains the title of Master in Inclusive Education.

The curriculum design aims to articulate theory and practice, focusing on developing projects applied to everyday school life and consolidating inclusive cultures in public networks.

Formation Objective and Application in School

Profei was designed for ongoing training of public school teachers, aimed at qualifying pedagogical practices and strengthening inclusion policies.

Throughout the course, the teacher deepens knowledge about legislation, management, and inclusive pedagogical strategies while developing interventions tailored to their work context.

The expectation is that the products and research generated will have a direct impact on learning and participation of all students in diverse school environments.

How to Enroll in Profei

Enrollment must be made exclusively through the Profei Selective System within the established period. The enrollment fee is R$ 130.

In addition to the form and personal and academic documents, candidates need to attach the research project aligned with one of the program’s lines.

It is recommended to carefully check the schedule and requirements, as the absence of mandatory documents or non-compliance with requirements will result in elimination at the verification stage.
