The Technical School Support Foundation (Faetec), linked to the State Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (Secti), is, this Thursday, (07/18), offering a unique opportunity for those aiming to enter Higher Education in the second semester of 2024. There are 442 spots in free courses, distributed among Higher Education Institutes and Technological Education Colleges in various locations in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Enrollment is open and will remain so until July 29.
Free Courses Offered by Faetec
Among the available options are courses in Pedagogy, Technology in Systems Analysis and Development, Internet Systems, Environmental Management, Logistics, Information and Communication Technology, and Management Processes.
The Faetec units offering these spots are strategically distributed in Petrópolis, Paracambi, Duque de Caxias, Barra Mansa, Três Rios, Campos dos Goytacazes, and Rio de Janeiro.

Inclusion and Accessibility
Part of the spots will be allocated to candidates with special needs and other social inclusion criteria.
Of the total, 45% are reserved for low-income students as verified by the Federal Government’s Unique Registration. Within this group, 20% are designated for Black, Indigenous, and Quilombola students, while another 20% are reserved for graduates from the public education system.
There is also a 5% reserve for people with disabilities and children of public safety professionals who have died or become incapacitated in the line of duty.
How to Enroll and Compete for Open Slots at Faetec?
Interested parties must register in person at the desired educational unit.
The selection criterion will be based on the results obtained by candidates in the National High School Exam (Enem), corresponding to the years 2023, 2022, or 2021.
Enrollment Procedures at Faetec
The necessary documents for completing the enrollment are: copies and originals of birth or marriage certificates, identity, CPF, 3×4 photos, proof of residence, high school completion certificate, school transcript, voter registration card (for adults), military service certificate (for men over 18 years), and proof of residence.
Calendar and Results of Approved Students in Free Courses
Enrollment results will be announced by July 31, with an appeal period until August 2.
The results will be announced on August 9, and the enrollment period is scheduled between August 12 and 16.
During the enrollment period, candidates will be able to choose from the seven courses offered by Faetec, aligned with market demands and designed to promote both theory and professional practice.
