Japanese Scooter of 124 cc Combines Consumption Above 55 km/l with Uncommon Electronic Technologies in Compact Models, Weighing Only 97 kg, Electric Assist on Starts, Smart Key, Smartphone Connectivity, and Price Equivalent to R$ 12 Thousand in Japan.

Yamaha introduced the Fazzio 2026 in Japan, a new 125 cc scooter set to launch commercially on April 24 at a price of 368,500 yen, which is approximately R$ 12,1 thousand in direct conversion to Brazilian currency.

The model features a single-cylinder engine of 124 cm³ with Blue Core technology, a declared consumption of up to 56.4 km/l in the WMTC cycle, and a total weight of 97 kg, as well as an electronic package that includes a smart key, LCD dashboard, smartphone connectivity, and a launching assist system.

Yamaha has not announced plans to market the Fazzio 2026 in Brazil, keeping the launch restricted to the Japanese market, even though production is carried out in Indonesia with a specific version for that country.

Retro Design with a Visual Language Owned for Urban Use

According to the positioning adopted by the manufacturer, the Fazzio 2026 is presented as a fashion-oriented scooter developed for urban mobility, aimed at consumers who prioritize the combination of style and functionality in their daily commutes.

The project follows the “Hello, Simple” concept, with a body featuring clean surfaces, minimal reliefs on the bodywork, and repeated oval elements in the headlight, taillight, dashboard, and utility hooks, creating a cohesive visual language that distinguishes the model within the Japanese brand’s scooter line.

The 2026 line will be offered in four color options in Japan—green, light blue, pastel yellow, and black—reinforcing the casual appeal of the model and its proposal aimed at everyday use in urban centers and shorter journeys.

Additionally, Yamaha highlights the increased space for knees and the flat floor for feet as central to the design, prioritizing the practicality of users who use the scooter daily in city traffic.

Blue Core Engine of 124 cc with Smart Motor Generator System

Under the fairing, the Fazzio 2026 is equipped with a single-cylinder engine of 124 cm³ with Blue Core technology, four-stroke, single overhead camshaft, two valves, and air cooling, a combination calibrated for efficiency and durability in intense urban use.

The declared maximum power is 8.3 hp at 6,750 rpm, while the maximum torque reaches 1.0 kgf.m at 5,000 rpm, values prioritizing smooth driving and reduced consumption over high-speed performance.

One of the main technical differentials is the Smart Motor Generator System, a feature that integrates the starter motor with the electric generator to ensure quieter starts and provide power assistance during initial accelerations.

The system provides an additional boost to the engine in the first moments of acceleration, capable of acting for about three seconds, assistance that is especially noticeable on inclines or when the scooter carries two passengers simultaneously.

In this generation, Yamaha chose not to use the Blue Core Hybrid nomenclature, while still maintaining electric support as part of the technical set, differing from the communication adopted in previous versions of the model in certain markets.

Declared Consumption of 56.4 km/l and Integrated Stop Start

In terms of energy efficiency, the model has a declared consumption of up to 56.4 km/l in the WMTC cycle, an international standard that simulates real-world conditions of use, with frequent accelerations and stops, bringing the measurement closer to the vehicle’s real behavior in urban traffic.

The Fazzio 2026 also integrates the Stop Start System, which automatically shuts down the engine during stops at traffic lights or in traffic jams and reactivates it when the throttle is twisted, contributing to reducing both fuel consumption and starting noise.

However, as with any official measurement, the declared values serve as a technical reference, as real consumption varies according to traffic profile, the rider’s driving style, the load carried, and the vehicle’s maintenance conditions.

Smart Key, Y-Connect, and Practical Solutions for Daily Life

In everyday use, the Fazzio 2026 offers a technology package that stands out among compact scooters, combining features oriented towards convenience and digital integration between the rider and the vehicle.

Among its equipment, the model features a smart key, digital LCD panel, fully LED lighting, and smartphone connectivity through the Y-Connect app, which allows users to view notifications for calls, messages, and technical information about the vehicle directly on the dashboard while riding.

On the other hand, the scooter also addresses practical needs of daily life, with a type A USB socket for device charging, two hooks for carrying items, and a storage compartment under the seat with a capacity of 19.1 liters, ample space to accommodate compact helmets and essential belongings.

Technical Specifications: Dimensions, Brakes, and Market Availability

In terms of dimensions, the Fazzio 2026 measures 1,820 mm in length, 685 mm in width, and 1,125 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,280 mm and a declared weight of 97 kg, a configuration that favors maneuvers in urban traffic and handling in parking lots.

The seat height is 765 mm, a measurement that facilitates foot support on the ground during stops, while the 12-inch wheels are fitted with 110/70 tires both front and rear, a specification typical of compact scooters aimed at urban use.

The braking system combines a disc on the front wheel and drum on the rear, while the fuel tank holds 5.1 liters, a capacity that, based on the declared consumption, projects an autonomy of over 280 km per full tank.

Despite the buzz generated among two-wheeled enthusiasts in various countries, Yamaha has not disclosed any official forecast for the arrival of the Fazzio 2026 in the Brazilian market, keeping the scooter restricted to Japan with production carried out in Indonesia in an exclusive configuration for that market.
