Even in the face of budget constraints, the Federal Government invested in transforming the country's transport infrastructure and held the largest auction in history, securing BRL 678 million to a fuel terminal in the Port of Santos (STS08A)

The year 2021 was marked by a series of actions carried out by the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Infrastructure (MInfra). According to the balance sheet released on 20/12/2021 by the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Government delivered 108 public works, renovated 2.050 kilometers of highways, invested BRL 5,5 billion in the modernization of all modes of transport and attracted more R$ $37,6 billion from the private sector for investments over the next few years in railroads, airports, highways, ports and waterways.

According to data from the Federal Government, from January to December, 13 deliveries were made in the aviation sector, in addition to the concessions of 22 airports by Infraero, which will receive more than R$ 6,1 billion in private investments. In addition, 2.050 kilometers of highways were paved, duplicated or restored, surpassing the numbers for 2019. The ports also took an important step with the approval of BR do Mar.

Brazil has the largest concessions program in the world. In the coming years, R$ 24,5 billion will be invested in 3 federal highways auctioned, including the Dutra highway and also the Rio-Santos highway (BR-101/SP/RJ). The concessions program also advanced in other modes, carrying out the biggest auction in history, assuring R$ 678 million to a fuel terminal in the Port of Santos (STS08A), in addition to a railroad (Fiol).

A series of actions by the Federal Government resulted in the biggest investment program of the last 100 years for the railroads. A contract for more than BRL 3 billion in private investment was signed for the concession of the West-East Integration Railroad (Fiol), in addition to kicking off the implementation works of the Midwest Integration Railroad (Fico), which will receive R$ 2 billion to be invested by Vale. The Federal Government also created the Pro Trilhos program, with the aim of boosting the emergence of new railroads.

BR do Mar

Known as BR do Mar, the proposal is the creation of the Cabotage Transport Stimulation Program, which is navigation between ports in the same country. Considered an efficient, low-cost and safe mode of transport, cabotage should increase in the country's logistics matrix with the new legislation, with the forecast of expanding the volume of containers transported, in addition to leveraging the capacity of the maritime fleet by 40% dedicated to cabotage over the next three years.

One of the main objectives of PNL 2035 is the transformation of Brazil's transport matrix, identifying the main needs and opportunities for the country's transport system, in order to make it more rational and sustainable, forecasting a 14% reduction in greenhouse gases. of the greenhouse effect in the atmosphere.

The Radar Anticorruption program, launched in 2019 by the Federal government through the Ministry of Infrastructure, increased control and inspection efforts, dealing with 228 complaints, in addition to launching the 1st edition of the Infra + Integrity Seal, which awarded three companies committed to initiatives of transparency, compliance, social responsibility, sustainability and prevention of fraud and corruption.

The year 2021 was marked by the creation of the National Traffic Secretariat (Senatran), changes in the New Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB) and the elaboration of the National Plan for the Reduction of Deaths and Traffic Injuries (Pnatrans), aiming to promote safer traffic. insurance for the Brazilian population.
