Fiat Revives the Beloved Van Doblò in the Brazilian Automotive Market and Prepares a Push with Five Major Launches in 2025 to Outsmart Rivals Ford and Chevrolet

Fiat is about to ignite the Brazilian automotive market in 2025 with a series of car launches that promise to revitalize its product line. After unveiling the new Fiat Toro with the same 2.2 turbodiesel engine as the Ram Rampage, the automaker has already confirmed at least five new models, including the highly anticipated return of the Doblò, now in an electric and commercial configuration.

With a focus on modernization, electrification, and more powerful engines, the Italian brand — part of the Stellantis group — is betting on strategic updates for models like Argo, Titano, Fastback, and Ducato, targeting everyone from urban consumers to heavy vehicle fleet operators.

Argo 2026: First Signs of Redesign in Eight Years

The Fiat Argo will undergo its first redesign since its launch. Recent sightings of the camouflaged model undergoing tests reveal the adoption of full-LED headlights and minor design adjustments. The 1.0 and 1.3 engines remain, but rumors suggest the hatch may gain the same 1.0 turbo engine with 130 hp already present in other vehicles from the group.

The big unknown, however, is the future of the model. There are speculations that both the Argo and the Mobi may be discontinued to make way for the new Grande Panda, Fiat’s global urban model that is expected to arrive in Brazil with a refreshed look and focus on sustainability. This type of substitution is not new: it was how the veteran Palio and Punto made way for the Argo years ago.

Titano Strengthens with 200 hp Engine and Production in Argentina

The newly launched Fiat Titano, a medium pickup that debuted in 2024, will already receive a significant update in 2025. The model will be manufactured in Argentina, replacing the current assembly in Uruguay, and will feature the robust 2.2 turbodiesel engine with 200 hp, the same engine used in the Ram Rampage, thus offering more power and performance on demanding terrains.

The factory and engine swap aligns the Titano with the quality standards of pickups like Toro and Commander, also produced in the region. Fiat’s strategy is to position the model as a competitive alternative against rivals like the Ford Ranger and the Chevrolet S10.

The Return of a Famous Name, the Fiat Doblò: Van Resurfaces as a Bet for the Commercial Market

The legendary Fiat Doblò is back, but with a new purpose: it will be 100% electric and intended for cargo transportation. The new generation arrives in Brazil to strengthen Stellantis’ presence in the light commercial segment, currently dominated by the Peugeot and Citroën brands, also part of the conglomerate.

With 136 hp, 27.5 kgfm of torque, and a 50 kWh battery, the new Doblò promises over 350 km of autonomy, according to validation from Inmetro. The model has 4.75 meters in length, a payload capacity of 800 kg, and useful volume of 4.4 m³, making it ideal for urban deliveries with zero pollutant emissions.

According to Stellantis’ Director of Commercial Operations, Antonio Filosa, “the new Doblò combines versatility and sustainability to meet an increasingly demanding market for clean solutions.”

The Fiat Doblò ceased production in Brazil in December 2021, after 20 years of uninterrupted production at the Betim (MG) plant. The model, launched in the country at the end of 2001, had over 160,000 units registered throughout its history.

During this period, the Doblò underwent some updates, including a significant redesign in 2010. However, over the years, the model lost market share due to a lack of deeper updates and growing competition. The decision to end production was also influenced by new pollutant emission requirements from Proconve L7, which came into effect in January 2022.

Now, in 2025, Fiat announces the return of the Doblò to the Brazilian market, this time in an electric version aimed at cargo transportation, marking a new phase for the model in the country.

Fastback and Cronos: Discreet Changes and New Details

Although it was not officially listed in the launch package, the sedan Fiat Cronos recently received a light facelift, with adjustments to the front and improvements in interior finishing. The Fastback may also have small visual changes and a new mechanical option in the coming months, according to rumors published by the specialized website Autos Segredos.

These updates reinforce Fiat’s trend of keeping its models competitive in a constantly evolving market, focusing on efficiency and embedded technology without major visual revolutions.

Ducato Takes on the Transit and the Sprinter with New Engine and Automatic Transmission

The Fiat Ducato, the brand’s main van, will also receive important updates. The visual will undergo a facelift with a new front grille, redesigned bumpers, and an updated logo. More relevant, however, will be the introduction of a new mechanical set.

The model will replace the current diesel engine with the same 2.2 turbodiesel engine from the Toro and Rampage, tuned to deliver 182 hp of power and impressive 45.9 kgfm of torque. Another novelty is the inclusion of a nine-speed automatic transmission, a long-standing demand from fleet operators and drivers covering long distances.

With this change, the Ducato becomes even more competitive against direct rivals like the Ford Transit and the well-established Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, which lead the van and truck segment in the country.

Fiat Bets on Stellantis’ Strength to Consolidate Leadership

Fiat is clearly ramping up its renewal with an ambitious launch schedule for 2025. The focus on more efficient engines, electric vehicles, and targeted modernizations shows that the brand intends to maintain its leadership in the national market, reinforced by Stellantis’ robust structure in Latin America.

The electrification of the Doblò and the new positioning of the Titano indicate a strategy aimed at both end consumers and also companies, carriers, and entrepreneurs.
