The Bet on Starship
Elon Musk and his SpaceX are betting on the Starship rocket, a gigantic vehicle made of stainless steel, standing an impressive 395 feet tall and capable of reaching speeds of up to 27,000 km/h.
According to the billionaire, this speed would allow major cities to be connected in less than one hour, drastically reducing travel time.
To give you an idea of the impact, Starship would enable routes like London to New York in just 29 minutes or New York to Sydney in 49 minutes, trips that currently take over ten hours.
Capacity and Experience on Board
The Starship is designed to carry up to 1,000 passengers at a time, but the experience on board will be different from anything we’ve seen before.
According to the Daily Mail, passengers would face intense gravitational forces during launch and landing, as well as experience low gravity conditions for the rest of the journey.
For safety reasons, all occupants will need to keep their seatbelts fastened for the entire trip.

Musk has compared the Starship to an “ICBM (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile) traveling at Mach 25,” explaining that the experience would be similar to a thrilling roller coaster, like Disney’s Space Mountain.

Despite Musk’s enthusiasm, the project faces significant regulatory and technological hurdles before it becomes a reality.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the regulatory body in the United States, will need to approve a series of permits for “Earth to Earth” flights to be feasible.
