The selection is especially aimed at professionals already working in the Unified Health System (SUS), but it is also open to graduates from other health-related fields.
The specialization course lasts for 12 months and will be held four days a week, with intensive classes on Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 8 AM to 5 PM.
Starting on August 6, 2025, and ending on August 27, 2026, the course will cover highly relevant topics, such as public health surveillance, epidemiology of non-communicable chronic diseases, epidemiological data analysis, and other advanced subjects in the field.
Structure of the Specialization Course
With a workload of 540 hours, the course is divided into three main modules. The Mandatory Common Core (with 360 hours) includes fundamental content on epidemiology and public health, being essential for building the theoretical foundation.
The Complementary Training module (90 hours) offers supplementary knowledge in data analysis and health policies, while the Guidance and Defense of the Final Project module (90 hours) focuses on preparing for the completion of a final project.
Among the key topics that will be covered throughout the course, the following stand out:

- Epidemiology of Non-communicable Chronic Diseases (60 hours)
- Epidemiology of Communicable Diseases (60 hours)

- Special Topics in Epidemiology (90 hours)
These modules were designed to update and deepen professionals’ knowledge of the main areas of epidemiology, as well as to provide training for the analysis and management of data regarding public health in Brazil.
Final Project and the Application of Acquired Knowledge
The Final Project (TCC), which will be developed during the last semester, represents one of the greatest challenges of the specialization.
Students will have the opportunity to apply all the knowledge acquired during the course in practical projects related to public health research.
Guidance for the TCC defense will take place between August 27, 2026, and December 18, 2026, with the aim of assessing students’ ability to conduct a rigorous and relevant study in the health field.

Registration is exclusively online and must be completed before 4 PM (Brasilia time) on the deadline day.
