After Halting Vehicle Production and Leaving the Country, Ford Motor Disembarks 450 Cars at the ES Port and Will Bring 30 Thousand Vehicles to Brazil Manufactured Abroad
After ceasing vehicle manufacturing and closing its factories in Brazil, Ford Motor now imports vehicles through the Port of Vitória. Last week, the disembarkation of 450 cars occurred, which arrived in the state aboard the Torrens ship. It is estimated that approximately 30 thousand cars will arrive in Brazil via Espírito Santo each year.
The first vehicles from the American automaker arrived at the Port of Vitória on May 18, 2021. Previously, Ford brought its cars through Baixada Santista and Bahia.
Now, the Vila Velha Port Terminal (ES) will be the only entry point for Ford in Brazil. According to Log-In Logística, the company responsible for the operation, the complex will receive about 28 thousand to 30 thousand cars from the American company annually.
“We came to witness and celebrate the importance of importing Ford vehicles in Espírito Santo. There will be a total of around 30 thousand vehicles per year, imported here by the State, which adds to other brands already imported here. This strengthens the economy of Espírito Santo, Vila Velha, and also Cariacica. The more capacity to invest, the more capacity to create opportunities for the people of Espírito Santo,” he highlighted.
