Volkswagen wants to sue Chinese automaker for shamelessly manufacturing an electric copy of the iconic Volkswagen Beetle
The multinational Volkswagen was not at all satisfied with the electric car manufacturer ORA. The Chinese industry has not yet abandoned some old habits, the Chinese manufacturer presented a clone of the Beetle at the Shanghai Motor Show, named ORA Punk Cat, the vehicle has the same traits as the iconic car of the German automaker VW.
It is possible to see that ORA was inspired – not to say that it blatantly copied – the traits of the Volkswagen Beetle in its new Punk Cat. The hood with a curved design, the rounded headlights and the rear design, complete with oval taillights, refer to the old beetle.
After Chevrolet and Ford, the multinational Fiat suspends production of vehicles in its factory and puts 1900 employees on collective vacations
After the departure of the automaker Ford from Brazil, the global supply crisis even reached the automaker Fiat and the country's auto industry could collapse. That and the pandemic made car factories like Chevrolet, Honda, Audi (Volkswagen), Scania, Volvo and Mercedes-Benz, Renault and Nissan suspend vehicle production.
At the time, the multinationals Chevrolet, Volkswagen and Fiat treated what happened as a suspension, and not a definitive closure of production in Brazil.
The automaker did not say the number of vehicles that will cease to be produced or the models most impacted in this stoppage. In March, Fiat also had to stop production for the same reason.
