The Company Achieved the Highest Score in the Operational Excellence Program for Offshore Rigs, Once Again Consolidating Its Technical, Operational, and Management Leadership in the Brazilian Offshore Drilling Sector
Since the beginning of the 4th cycle of the Operational Excellence Program for Offshore Rigs, covering the period 2023–2025, Foresea has consistently stood out. Thus, at the end of the process, the company achieved a overall score of 8.9, the highest of the cycle. Consequently, it became, for the fourth consecutive time, the winner of the PEO-Rigs, conducted by Petrobras, considered the main instrument for technical and management evaluation in the sector.
In this context, the PEO-Rigs is conducted every two years and includes technical and managerial audits applied to the companies providing offshore drilling services to the state-owned company. Therefore, in the 4th cycle, which started in 2023 and concluded in 2025, 18 companies participated in 21 audits, covering 25 offshore rigs in operation in Brazil.
Throughout the assessments, Foresea achieved first place in three core management categories. Firstly, it stood out in Integration Management. Next, it led SMS – Health, Environment, and Safety. Moreover, it secured the best placement in Operations Management. Consequently, these results supported the achievement of the title of champion in Overall Performance.

On the other hand, even in the other evaluated categories, the company maintained a high performance. Although balanced, Foresea placed 3rd in Human Resources, 2nd in Suppliers, and 3rd in Asset Management. Thus, the overall scores reinforced its position of technical and operational leadership.
According to Renato Costa, Operations Director of Foresea, the result reflects a continuous evolution in the sector. According to him, “the PEO-Rigs is, at the same time, recognition and encouragement”. Furthermore, the executive stated that maintaining leadership requires consistency, as the entire offshore industry has raised its quality standards. Therefore, the company makes permanent investments in technology, processes, and training people.
In the Integration Management criterion, the recognition occurred, above all, due to the implementation of the Continuous Improvement Program, structured based on Kaizen and Lean Six Sigma methodologies, as well as the systematic holding of Technical Forums. Thus, the company consolidated practices aimed at operational efficiency and process standardization.
In the SMS dimension, the highlight was the implementation of an integrated risk identification and management system, based on the Hazid – Hazard Identification model. Thus, the solution allowed for greater systematization, integration, and control of operational risks, strengthening the safety of offshore operations.
Finally, in Operations Management, Petrobras recognized the excellence in coordinating activities, as well as the continuous delivery of safe, efficient, and reliable operations. In this way, the operational performance supported the highest overall score of the cycle.
In summary, the achievement of the highest score in PEO-Rigs 2023–2025, announced at the end of the cycle, reinforces Foresea’s positioning as a leader in the offshore drilling sector in Brazil. Thus, the result confirms, objectively and technically, the company’s consistency in the standards required by Petrobras and the national offshore market.
