Next week, during Rio Oil & Gas, Vallourec will present to the market its portfolio of solutions for the oil industry, such as its steel produced with lower CO2 equivalent emissions. The company’s booth will be at Warehouse 5, H21, at a fair that will take place between September 26 and 29, at Pier Mauá, located in Rio de Janeiro.

The Senior Vice President of Vallourec South America, Pierre d’Archemont, highlighted that Vallourec has a strategic role in supplying essential sectors of the Brazilian and global economy. The company’s commitment is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 25% by 2025 compared to the amount emitted in 2017. During the four-day event in Rio de Janeiro, the company will showcase a selection of innovative solutions developed from the sustainable use of natural resources that produce the steel with the lowest CO2 equivalent emissions in the market.
Vallourec will also showcase, during Rio Oil & Gas, the technology it has for producing high-quality sustainable charcoal through a fully automated continuous vertical reactor, capable of maximizing the energy potential contained in the forest. The reactor has zero methane emissions, making it compatible with sustainability requirements and aligned with greenhouse gas reduction strategies. According to the company, the entire process begins in Vallourec’s renewable eucalyptus forests. In this unit, the wood is planted, cultivated, and harvested using processes and practices certified by internationally recognized bodies.
