Country Surpassed In September The Historic Mark Of 6 GW Of Power In Large-Scale Plants. Distributed Generation Also Expands, With Good Solutions To Make Solar Energy More Accessible, Including For Residential Consumption
Solar energy continues to grow in Brazil, and data from the Electric Energy Trading Chamber (CCEE) proves this. In August, the generation from solar plants was 82% higher than that recorded in the same period last year.
According to the Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy (Absolar), Brazil surpassed the historic mark of 6 GW of power from photovoltaic solar sources in large-scale plants in September, which already represent 3.3% of Brazil’s electricity matrix.

But how does a solar plant work in practice? In the case of photovoltaic plants, which are the most commonly found in the country, the mechanism is simple: solar panels convert sunlight into electrical current. Then, this current passes through a solar inverter, where it is converted into alternating current to be transmitted through distribution networks to homes, apartments, and businesses.

“Solar generation is expanding not only from larger plants. It is a source that has been gaining popularity. In addition to the growth of centralized generation from solar plants, distributed solar generation is also expanding, benefiting various sectors and the end consumer. In agriculture, for example, owners of small and large plots of land are building small-scale solar plants that can be used to offset the consumption of businesses and homes. For the owner, it is a way to monetize their land and invest in a long-term asset with good returns,” says Felipe Mattos, CEO of Reverde, an energy tech that simplifies the use of solar energy.
Reverde is an example of a company that rents small-scale solar plants. Thus, it distributes clean energy to its clients, without them needing to install solar panels in their homes or commercial establishments.
Therefore, even apartment dwellers can consume energy from solar generation. Those who subscribe to the energy tech’s service can achieve savings of up to 15% on their electricity bill. Subscription can be done through Reverde’s platform or via WhatsApp.
About Reverde
Reverde is the simple way to use solar energy for savings and help decarbonize the planet. The company relies on a green account that offers savings on the electricity bill, without the consumer needing to invest or install solar panels. To do this, simply sign up for one of the plans, free of charge, and the user becomes part of the network of 100% clean solar energy producers.
