Technical Services Engineer
Summary: Responsible for addressing technical service needs based on the customer and/or managing complex offers to direct and indirect customers within an area of technical knowledge, developing and implementing specific sales and marketing plans for the customer across various segments/business channels to maximize margin delivery, growth, and account retention while meeting segmented KPIs.
Key Responsibilities: Make appropriate lubricant recommendations concerning the use of products in Oil and Gas or Shipment applications aligned with the Maritime and Energy Technical Databases. Prepare and maintain an updated schedule of recommended lubricants for client assets using the available online tools.
Responding to technical inquiries from customers (and sales/customer service) regarding products, applications, operational conditions, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Clearly demonstrate the differentiated value of GME’s offering (products and services) to customers and target prospects through the execution of the ‘Castrol Value Proposition’.
Complete customer visits, internal/external reporting when necessary, and provide support for technical complaints and claims. Coordinate and implement, with the support of central technical services, regional product testing; among others.
Essential Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Naval Engineering, or Diploma/Tertiary Technical Qualification with equivalent experience.
Experience and Work Requirements: Marine, Oil & Gas industry engineering experience including both equipment maintenance and reliability experience. Knowledge of oil and gas project management is advantageous.
B2B technical sales experience is an advantage; proven experience in the Lubricants and/or maritime/Oil and Gas sector, with previous experience in “customer service”.
Ability to be self-sufficient and work independently with customers and across the organization with international/multicultural teams.
Customer-oriented mindset and the ability to promptly address customer inquiries and resolve technical issues. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; solid computer knowledge, including Windows, MS Office, PowerPoint, and email.
Fluent in Portuguese (Brazilian) and English, Spanish is a plus.
