Alert in the fuel market: Analysts and a former director of ANP warn that oil prices may worsen in the coming months due to global instability.
The proximity of technology-based companies is a strategy to mitigate the economic dependence of the United Arab Emirates on the oil and gas sector, according to SRTIP CEO Hussain Al Mahmoudi, who has been running the program for startup projects since 2016. This is the third edition aimed at Brazilian startups and is expected to start in November.
According to the executive of the United Arab Emirates company, originally, 70% of the world’s economy is based on the oil sector, but the goal of the job offerings is to achieve zero dependence by the beginning of the next decade, and there are seven years until then. Everything is changing now, and it is a great moment for startups and established companies.
Positions May Also Be Paid and Offer a US$ 100,000 Prize
The executive emphasizes that interest in startups is also a way to generate technological support for large countries in the Middle East, which depend on oil, such as the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Iraq, Libya, and Saudi Arabia.
According to Al Mahmoudi, the company aims for Brazilian companies to compete for positions so that SRTIP can present these markets. In addition to free applications, there is an option to join by paying for the program at the price of US$ 75,000 per project.
In this category, participants can compete for the US$ 100,000 prize for the best project. Startups that pay for their application to the United Arab Emirates company’s program also have office space, access to equipment and factories, as well as individual meetings with local corporate and government entities, the organization informs.
According to the executive, it is essential to know the local rules, organizations, legislation, and the projects available in the region.
