The federal government estimates that, just in Ceará, over four thousand direct jobs will be created during the construction and operation of the railroad.
And this number could be even higher when considering indirect opportunities in other sectors, such as industry, commerce, and services, which are expected to accompany the development of the infrastructure.
According to Eduardo Tavares, National Secretary of Funds and Financial Instruments of the MIDR, the signing of the addendum will take place later this month, accelerating project execution.
“We want to ensure that the Northeast has one of the most important railroads for Brazil’s development,” Tavares said, adding that the impact on the local economy will be significant, with the creation of many jobs in various sectors.
Logistics and Development: More Jobs on the Horizon
The construction of the railroad will allow a strategic connection between the interior of the Northeast and the coast, facilitating the transport of products such as grains, fertilizers, cement, and ores, especially for export.
With more efficient logistics, the agricultural and industrial sectors of the region will gain new momentum, and this should also generate new job opportunities in the long term.
According to infrastructure sector experts, this project could be a game changer for the socioeconomic development of the Northeast.
The railroad will not only reduce transportation costs but will also attract new investments to the region, creating a virtuous cycle of job creation.
