Package of Projects Discussed at the Palácio dos Bandeirantes Includes Expansion of the VLT, Strategic Road Interventions, Adjustments at the Ponte do Mar Pequeno and Strengthening of Public Health, After Four-Hour Meeting Between State and City Hall of Praia Grande.

The São Paulo Government Authorized the Advancement of Studies and Forwarding for a Package of Works and Actions in Praia Grande, Focusing on Urban Mobility, Health, and Housing, Following a Meeting of About Four Hours at the Palácio dos Bandeirantes.

The Agenda Took Place on February 10, 2026, in the State Capital, and Brought Together Mayor Alberto Mourão (MDB) and Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicanos), Along with State Secretaries and Members of the Technical Teams Involved in the Discussions.

According to the City Hall, the Agenda Included Approximately 20 Topics, Structured from Surveys and Data Organized by the Municipality, Which Presented Demands Considered Priority for the City and Regional Circulation in the Baixada Santista.

At the End of the Meeting, Mourão Stated, in an Official Note, That “It Was an Extremely Positive Meeting,” Highlighting the Technical Conduct of the Discussions and the State Government’s Willingness to Take Action to Bring Projects to Life.

In the Statement Released by the City Hall, Mourão Said That the Meeting Had Technical Clarity and Emphasized the Expectation of Future Announcements, Without Detailing Timelines, Amounts, or Stages Already Contracted So Far.

Extension of the VLT to Praia Grande Enters into Project Phase

Among the Highlighted Points, the Extension of the VLT to Praia Grande Emerged as One of the Main Demands, with a Request to Accelerate the Consolidation of the Project, a Step Considered Necessary Prior to Formal Hiring Processes.

The City Hall Informed That the State Government Determined the Development of the Project, a Move Interpreted by the Municipal Administration as a Step to Allow Future Advances, Still Without Public Confirmation of Work Schedules or a Definitive Execution Model.

The Meeting Also Addressed Demands in Sections Under the Concession of Concessionária Novo Litoral, Discussing Devices and Interventions Aimed at Mobility, Along with Complementary Works That Depend on Alignment Between the State, Concessionaire, and Municipalities.

In Addition, the Municipal Administration Mentioned the Paving of Access to the State Prison and the Creation of an Exclusive Lane for Motorcycles on the Via Expressa Sul, Proposals That Were Presented as Part of the Set of Adjustments in Local Traffic.

Expansion of Beds and Strengthening of the Hospital Network

In the Health Sector, the City Hall Informed That It Discussed the Expansion of Beds, Increased High-Complexity Consultations, the Performance of Elective Surgeries, and the Expansion of Exams, Including Catheterization and Magnetic Resonance, Among the Presented Demands.

The Municipal Government Also Brought to the Table the Need to Improve the Agreement with Hospital Irmã Dulce, a Topic Cited as Part of Efforts to Increase Care Capacity, Still Without Public Disclosure of Agreed Numerical Targets After the Meeting.

Units of Social Interest for Resettlement

In Housing, the Proposed Discussion Foresees the Construction of Units of Social Interest to Resettle Families Living in Invaded Areas, an Initiative Described as a Measure of Urban Reorganization and Addressing Social Demands of the Municipality.
