Complete Theoretical Material for Civil Aviation at Home with Official Certificate Allows Future Pilots to Start Studies at No Cost and Follow Content Required by Anac.
The training of new pilots is more accessible. The government, through Anac (National Civil Aviation Agency), has provided a complete set of free manuals for those who wish to study civil aviation at home with an official certificate, taking the first step towards obtaining a private pilot certificate. The content covers all the theoretical basis required for the official exam, allowing the student to advance in studies without initially needing an accredited school.
This initiative comes at a time of strong expansion in the aviation market. According to international estimates, by 2044, the world will need more than 660,000 new pilots just in commercial aviation. In Brazil, democratizing access to aviation knowledge is a way to reduce costs and expand technical training in a sector that requires high qualification and operational safety.
Free Course from Anac: How It Works
The free civil aviation course at home with an official certificate is available in the digital library Wings of Knowledge, maintained by Anac.
-
Federal Institute calls for EAD and free course with 200 spots in a 400-hour specialization.
-
Take a 100% free online course at “NASA” of Brazil: The Brazilian Space Agency opens registrations for 29 courses with national slots, in areas such as rockets, satellites, and propulsion, immediate online access, and free certification in 2026.
-
Sebrae will pay R$ 6,500 to those who take this course and work with rural innovation: there are 834 open positions, scholarships of up to R$ 6,500, and contracts of up to 12 months in various cities.
-
Take a course at the Federal Institute without spending a single real and from home: IFRS opens unlimited spots in online courses with certification.
The content includes all the necessary modules for the theoretical training of pilots, such as flight principles, aerodynamics, aircraft construction and systems, flight controls, and decision making.
All material is in PDF format and can be downloaded for free, with no registration or login required. This means that anyone interested can study at their own pace, at home, with the same content charged in aviation schools.
The set of manuals covers virtually all the theoretical basis required for Anac’s exam, ensuring solid preparation for those seeking to enter the career.
What Can Be Learned from the Course
The content of the free course covers everything from basic aviation fundamentals to advanced technical concepts. Among the main topics are:
- Introduction to Aviation and history of air transportation
- Flight Principles and Aerodynamics of aircraft
- Decision Making and Human Factors in the cockpit
- Flight Systems and Controls
- Aircraft Construction and Preventive Maintenance
These subjects form the core of the theoretical learning required by Anac for obtaining the private pilot certificate (PP), which authorizes non-commercial flights and gives access to subsequent stages of training, such as the commercial pilot course (PC).
Training and Steps to Become a Pilot
The career of a civil pilot is divided into theoretical and practical phases. The first is obtaining the private pilot certificate, which authorizes recreational flights.
To do this, the candidate must be over 18 years old, have completed high school, and pass theoretical and practical exams conducted by Anac.
The theoretical part can be done on your own, using the free material from Anac, which represents significant savings, as complete training at private schools can exceed R$ 250,000 until obtaining a commercial pilot license.
After the theoretical stage, the student needs to complete a minimum of 40 supervised flight hours at accredited flying clubs, in addition to a solo flight to validate certification.
Pilots of the Semi-Arid Project Expands Access to the Profession
In parallel with the availability of theoretical material, Anac launched the Pilots of the Semi-Arid Project, an initiative that offers full scholarships for commercial pilot training in the Northeast, based in Mossoró (RN).
The program covers everything from theoretical classes to the practical flying component, which is traditionally the most expensive part of the process.
The project is part of the Wings for All program, which encompasses 34 actions aimed at inclusion and diversity in civil aviation.
Half of the vacancies are reserved for women, and the focus is on serving students from CadÚnico, expanding opportunities in regions with low availability of aviation schools.
The goal is to prepare new professionals and reduce the workforce shortage in the sector.
Growth of Civil Aviation and Career Prospects
Civil aviation at home with an official certificate represents the beginning of a promising journey. After the theoretical course and the private pilot license, the professional can advance to the commercial pilot certificate (PC), which allows for paid flights.
From there, advancement depends on experience and obtaining additional certifications, such as instrument flight (IFR) and multi-engine.
In Brazil, commercial pilots earn an average of between R$ 10,000 and R$ 20,000 per month, depending on the company and type of aircraft.
The growth of regional air transportation and executive aviation reinforces the increasing demand for qualified professionals, opening up space for those starting their studies with Anac’s free material.
Do you believe that free access to theoretical content can help more Brazilians enter civil aviation? Comment if you would like to start your pilot studies using the official Anac material.

Sim.
