- CPF of the family responsible person with a validation code sent via SMS.
Who Can Receive the Benefit
To be eligible for the Gas for the People recharge voucher, the family must meet several criteria defined by the government:
- Be registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico) with data updated for at least 24 months.
- Have a per capita family income of up to half the minimum wage.
- CPF of the family responsible person regular and without pending issues, no cadastral investigation or indications of death.
- Priority is given to families who already receive Bolsa Família.
These requirements seek to ensure focus on those who really need it and simplify the operation.
What Changed in Relation to the Gas Aid for Brazilians
Before the Gas for the People, the Gas Aid for Brazilians provided a financial transfer to help buy the cylinder. With the new public policy, sanctioned by Law No. 15.348/2026, the benefit is no longer just monetary but is now provided directly in the form of free refills, making diversions more difficult and ensuring that the gas is indeed used for the right purpose.
Moreover, this law makes the program a permanent public policy, strengthening social protection in the long term.
