Who Successfully Voluntarily Saved Electricity in the Last Four Months of 2021 Will Be Rewarded by a Federal Government Program Through a Discount on the Electricity Bill for the First Month of This Year
In the last year, the Federal Government had already announced that those who were able to save electricity would be rewarded. Thankfully, the promise was fulfilled in light of the current hydroelectric crisis in Brazil, which, according to industry experts, nearly caused a widespread blackout.

As a result, the Federal Government created the Voluntary Energy Consumption Reduction Program, aimed at promoting a decrease in the amount of electricity consumed. The project already offers discounts to direct beneficiaries on their electricity bills starting in January 2022.
The beneficiaries of this Federal Government project are, in summary, those who managed to save 10% to 20% on electricity consumption between September and December of last year, compared to the same period in 2020.

How to Request the Benefit on the Electricity Bill?
Considering that most government grants require the interested person to apply, the question above is a common and pertinent doubt. However, unlike usual cases, for the electricity bill, this is not required since the discount is automatically applied to the bill for January 2022.
Therefore, to find out if you are part of the segment of the population in the group of beneficiaries of the program developed by the Federal Government, simply check the document related to your electricity bill.
