Pilot Project with Gas Bridge Comercializadora and Tradener will test the supply of natural gas in Paraná to diversify the energy matrix
The great Paraná Gas Company (Compagas), closed an unprecedented agreement with suppliers of natural gas alternative to Petrobras for the first time in its history: Gas Bridge Comercializadora and Tradener. This partnership will bring innovation and diversification to Paraná's energy matrix, and stimulate the growth of new fuels in Brazil.
The partnership signed provides for the delivery of up to 10 cubic meters of natural gas per day to Compagas, for 10 continuous days. However, the supply may be temporarily interrupted if there is not enough availability for the requirements, as established in the interruptible modality contract. Understand the benefits that these tests will bring to Paraná in today's article.

Natural gas received in Paraná will come from Bolivia and in reduced volumes in the short term due to mobility restrictions
Os suppliers that closed an agreement with Compagas will bring natural gas from Bolivia, but they still cannot say exactly when it will start arriving in Paraná.

“The natural gas to be received in both contracts comes from Bolivia. In the short term, the Company does not expect to receive the supply, given the confirmation of the reduction in fuel shipments from the neighboring country. However, together with Tradener and Gas Bridge Comercializadora, we are monitoring the situation and looking for windows of opportunity to receive the contracted gas in Paraná”.

In addition, at first, natural gas will come in small quantities, due to transportation restrictions. After all, Petrobras still holds most of the contracts for transporting the compound in Brazil, making it unfeasible to supply large quantities to other companies. Therefore, the modality of interruptible contract was adopted. However, this gas will be channeled later, with the tendency to increase fleets from Bolivia to Brazil.
“Our last public call for contracting natural gas resulted, at the beginning of this year, in a new contract with Petrobras, as it was the only agent that demonstrated the viability of a firm supply to guarantee distribution to consumer markets. However, the contract was negotiated in order to allow future contracting with other suppliers. Now, we are testing the interruptible contract modality, in order to fill the idleness gaps in the gas pipeline and be able to make contracts with higher volumes and deadlines feasible”.

Partnership companies have extensive experience in the fuel market, contributing to the expansion of the sector in Paraná and making Compagas a pioneer
The company Tradener has been operating for 24 years in the fuel sector in Brazil, in Paraná, always looking for ways to bring greater sustainability. This is also the objective of Gas Bridge Comercializadora, which is interested in increasing market competitiveness in the natural gas sector with this new partnership.
“The operation with Compagas is the symbol of a new era: together we are opening the way to a competitive environment and outlining the future of the market. Gas is the main source of energy in the transition to a low-carbon economy, in addition to guaranteeing the stability and energy security of the country”.

Compagas still has a Public Call for open partnerships and is looking for more suppliers
Company Compagas created a Coordinated Public Call (CP22) in 2021 for contracting natural gas distribution services, that is, potential supply companies. It remains open with the aim of establishing new negotiations and pioneering the supply of the compound in pipes in Paraná.
In this way, the company aims to make the market more competitive and benefit the end consumer, who needs alternatives to maintain their daily activities more than ever.
