GreenYellow Aims to Expand Its Participation in Electric Mobility, Energy Storage, and Digital Services in Brazil. The Company’s Goal Is to Complement Energy Efficiency and Distributed Solar Generation Activities, Areas Where the French Group’s Subsidiary Has Been Operating Here Since 2013
The company will bring to Brazil starting this year the electric vehicle charging solutions offered in France, where it has more than 250 electric charging stations in operation. The focus is on projects that support electric mobility. According to the executive, there is potential to provide services for companies interested in electrifying their fleets, such as logistics companies and those that have adopted remote work policies. In January, GreenYellow closed a local partnership with NewCharge, a Brazilian engineering and development company for electric energy storage. “The intention is to increase the number of charging stations in Brazil. We are monitoring the expansion of electric vehicles,” said Zerkowsky.
GreenYellow Generated R$ 304 Million in Brazil, an 83% Year-on-Year Increase
GreenYellow is also expanding its solar energy generation capacity in Brazil. The goal is to add more than 50 megawatts in generation plants to the portfolio this year and reach an installed capacity of 150 MW in the country by December.
The growth strategy may involve acquisitions of projects and development of its own plants. In November, GreenYellow announced the purchase of a 90% stake in five distributed solar generation plants from FazSol, on the outskirts of Brasília, with a capacity of 4.4 megawatts-peak.

In 2021, the company generated R$ 304 million in Brazil, an 83% year-on-year increase. The company operates in eight countries in solar energy, trading, energy management, and energy efficiency businesses. The company entered Poland last year as part of its strategy to expand operations in emerging countries, which includes South America and Asia.
GreenYellow ended last year with an installed power generation capacity of 740 MWp worldwide, a 31% year-on-year increase. The company has 3,000 efficiency projects implemented worldwide, which means a global energy savings of 985 gigawatt-hours by 2021.
GreenYellow’s President in Brazil, Roberto Zerkowski, Highlights Expansion Plans for the Brazilian Market
Roberto Zerkowski, the company’s president in Brazil, highlighted the strong partnership with NewCharge, a Brazilian company that operates in the electric energy storage segment in both on and off-grid sectors.
“We want to expand the electric mobility market in Brazil and, to that end, we aim to install 100 new charging stations for electric vehicle refueling. The idea is for the charging points to be installed this year. In France, we already have more than 250 charging points in full operation. In this scenario, we want to be the partner that offers an ‘as a service’ model for electric chargers, where the customer does not need to invest in the equipment and infrastructure upgrades, only paying a monthly fee for using the charger”, highlighted Zerkowski.
Grupo Profarma, Lojas Quero Quero, and Panvel signed contracts with GreenYellow in Brazil in 2021. Zerkowsky emphasizes that currently, the group’s clients are primarily companies in the pharmaceutical, telecommunications, and retail sectors, but the intention is also to close deals with mining, metallurgy, and food processing companies this year. “We are in a growth rhythm in Brazil,” said the executive.
