Cesbe Group Launches Giya, New Company Focused on the Energy Revolution with Distributed Solar Power Generation Solutions and Specialized Technical Consulting.

Cesbe Group announced the creation of Giya, a company aimed at transforming the energy sector. Giya promises to offer innovative solutions in distributed solar power generation, coupled with specialized technical consulting. With this new venture, Cesbe Group seeks to solidify its position as a leader in the renewable energy market.

Considered one of the largest engineering and energy companies in Brazil, Cesbe, now with Giya, intends to move billions in the solar power market by 2030. With over 80 years of experience, Cesbe reaffirms its commitment to the country’s energy future. Giya’s proposal is to become a national reference in sustainable technologies, driving economic and environmental development.

The growing solar energy market in Brazil is full of opportunities. ‘Our mission is to design and build the future solar power plants that will be part of this great energy revolution, currently led by countries such as China and the United States’, states Rodrigo Kimura, Director of Energy at Cesbe Group.

Energy Revolution with Cesbe Group

Giya is one of the few companies that offers a complete solution, covering all stages of the implementation process of a power plant – from prospecting the ideal land to the beginning of operation. According to the latest study by IRENA (International Renewable Energy Agency), the use of renewable energies worldwide reached a record in 2023, with an installed capacity of 3,870 GW. In total, these energy sources were responsible for 86% of the new capacity installed the previous year.

Installed Capacity and Solar Generation

According to the report, solar energy led capacity expansion, accounting for 73% of the observed growth, followed by wind energy at 24%. In 2023, Brazil recorded the largest increase in solar generation in its entire historical series. In practice, the country reached 36 gigawatts of installed capacity for photovoltaic solar energy, making 2023 one of the most notable years for the sector. The increase was 10.6 gigawatts, as at the beginning of 2023, this number stood at 25.4 gigawatts.

Distributed Generation and Innovation

According to a survey by Mordor Intelligence, a specialist in industrial analysis and consulting, distributed solar power generation has consolidated as an innovative and essential solution to meet future energy needs. With an installed capacity projected to reach 301.75 gigawatts by 2029, Brazil stands out globally, especially in solar and wind generation. On the world stage, China and the United States lead the sector, with capacity increasing sixfold since 2010.

Solutions from Cesbe Group and Clean Energy

Giya emerges to offer distributed generation solutions that provide significant economic and environmental benefits. In a rapidly growing sector driven by government incentives and the search for sustainable alternatives, the new company is fully prepared, backed by the entire know-how of Cesbe Group, now focused on the clean energy market. According to data from the Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Energy (Absolar), there are currently about 4 million consumer units and 30 GW of distributed generation in Brazil. With the increasing interest from agribusiness companies and investment funds, this number is expected to grow.

Technical Viability and Energy Credits

Fabiano Fenelon, Executive Business Development Manager at Cesbe Group, states that Giya will offer prospecting, evaluation, and technical viability studies for the areas where the plants will be installed, in addition to developing and applying the basic and executive projects for these installations. The company will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the plants, creating necessary processes to ensure the efficiency and longevity of solar installations. In Kimura’s view, one of the greatest differentiators of the new company is its ability to offer specialized technical consulting to define the best partners for managing the energy credits generated by the new plants, thus increasing the predictability of the return on investment.

Current Projects of Cesbe Group

Cesbe Group, which has been investing in and operating its own energy assets for over 20 years, including small hydropower plants (PCHs), transmission lines, and photovoltaic plants (UFVs), with over 10 GW of installed power, already has seven projects underway in the solar plant sector. Three of these projects are in Rio Grande do Sul (two in Maçambará and one in Redentora), two in São Paulo (Descalvado and Porto Feliz), and two in Paraná (Cianorte and Rondon). ‘Even before the launch of Giya, we were already receiving inquiries from investors interested in discussing new projects’, comments Fenelon. According to Ambiente Energia, one of the main news portals in the sector, the market is expected to move around R$100 billion by 2030.

History and Clients of Cesbe Group

Present in Brazil since 1946, Cesbe Group has already completed more than 1,100 works. Among its clients are large companies such as Klabin, Atlas Renewable Energy, AES Brasil, Suzano, Vale, Statkraft, and Enel Green Power. For more information, visit http://energiya.com.br/.
