The Debut of the Honda WN7 Marks the Entry of the Japanese Manufacturer in the Large Electric Motorcycle Segment, Combining a Range of 130 km, Fast Charging in 30 Minutes, and Performance Comparable to Combustion Models of Up to 1,000 cc.

The Honda presented in Europe, on this Tuesday (16), the WN7, its first large electric motorcycle, with an estimated range of 130 km and fast charging from 20% to 80% in about 30 minutes via the CCS2 standard.

The model derives from the EV Fun concept shown at EICMA 2024 and inaugurates the phase of larger capacity electrics by the Japanese manufacturer.

According to the company, the performance is expected to approach that of combustion motorcycles of 600 cc in power and 1,000 cc in torque.

European Debut and Positioning of the WN7

The debut occurs in the European market focusing on the naked middleweight segment.

The acronym has an official explanation: the “W” refers to “Be the Wind,” a concept of fluidity; the “N” identifies the naked style; and the “7” refers to the power class in which the motorcycle is positioned.

There is no complete technical sheet published yet, but Honda indicates that this is its first large electric motorcycle intended for the end consumer in the region.

Range and Charging of the Honda WN7

The WN7 uses a fixed lithium-ion battery and supports both home charging and fast charging.

At conventional outlets, the brand indicates a time of less than 3 hours for a full charge.

For CCS2 chargers, the estimated time to go from 20% to 80% is 30 minutes.

This configuration aims to balance urban use with daily medium-distance commutes.

Performance and Comparison with Combustion Motorcycles

Without disclosing final power and torque numbers, Honda compares the delivery of the WN7 to that of combustion motorcycles of 600 cc in power and 1,000 cc in torque, signaling a focus on strong accelerations in everyday use.

Specialized publications add preliminary data: dry weight of 217 kg, 18 kW electric motor with liquid cooling, and declared torque of 73.7 lb·ft, in addition to a potential 11 kW version for A1 licensing in Europe.

Futuristic Dashboard and Design

The dashboard is a 5-inch TFT with integration to Honda RoadSync, allowing navigation, calls, and notifications.

The set follows a slim and futuristic design, characteristic of projects conceived from the beginning for electric architecture.

It features elements of sports naked bikes, LED headlights, and modern controls on the handlebars.

Name, Price, and Next Steps

The WN7 is the production version of the EV Fun Concept, displayed in Milan in November 2024.

Honda asserts that all specifications will be detailed at EICMA in November.

In Great Britain, the model has been announced with an “on the road” price of £12,999, with production starting at the end of 2025 and first units in dealerships at the beginning of 2026, according to the specialized press in the UK.

Global Electrification Strategy

The launch aligns with Honda’s corporate goal of advancing towards carbon neutrality and expanding the offering of electrified two-wheelers.

Before the WN7, the company expanded its portfolio with urban use vehicles and fleets in Asian and European markets, such as the EM1 and: in Europe, the Activa and: and the QC1 in India, the latter with a fixed battery.

The global goal is to diversify applications, while concepts like the EV Fun pave the way for higher performance motorcycles.

Expectations for Brazil

For the Brazilian market, the brand has already shown interest in electrifying its lineup and introduced the EM1 and: at local events.

However, there is no official announcement of the start of WN7 sales in the country.

The expectation for the arrival of an electric motorcycle from Honda here in 2025 circulates in industry publications, but without confirmation from the manufacturer so far.

The local strategy tends to consider charging infrastructure, industrial policy, and total cost of ownership before a large-scale commercial launch.

Timeline and Upcoming Announcements

After the teaser published in Europe throughout the second half, the formal announcement of the name WN7 occurred on September 16, 2025, highlighting the features of fast charging and the promise of more than 130 km of range per charge.

The focus now shifts to the EICMA in November, when Honda is expected to unveil the final numbers for power, torque in N·m, and battery capacity in kWh, as well as regional delivery schedules.

While the complete technical sheet is not published, what aspects do you want to see tested first on the WN7: the fast charging, the real range in mixed cycle, or the performance on the highway?
