Honda WR-V Hybrid-Flex Will Be Launched in Brazil in 2025 with Fuel Consumption of 23 km/l, Range of 1,100 km, e:HEV Engine, and Price Between R$ 120 Thousand and R$ 140 Thousand to Compete with the Corolla Cross.

The Brazilian market is preparing to receive, in the second half of 2025, the new Honda WR-V hybrid-flex, a compact SUV that promises an average fuel consumption of 23 km/l and a range of over 1,100 km per tank. Produced in Brazil, the model arrives as the most affordable hybrid from the Japanese brand, with an estimated price between R$ 120 thousand and R$ 140 thousand, positioned directly against rivals such as the Toyota Corolla Cross, Nissan Kicks, and the upcoming electrified Renault Kardian. The proposal is clear: to offer energy efficiency and hybrid technology in an accessible way, without giving up the SUV format that dominates Brazilian consumer preferences.

With the WR-V 2025, Honda takes a strategic step to expand its share in the hybrid segment, capitalizing on technological advancements and the increasing demand for more economical vehicles. The adoption of the e:HEV hybrid system — already known in models like the City and Accord — marks the consolidation of a new phase for the brand, focused on energy efficiency, emission reduction, and greater competitiveness in the national market.

Hybrid System of the WR-V 2025: Flex Engine, Electric, and Focus on Economy

The Honda WR-V 2025 will be equipped with the e:HEV system, which combines a 1.5 flex Atkinson cycle engine with a high-efficiency electric motor and a self-recharging lithium-ion battery.

The distinctive feature of this system is the predominantly electric operation at low speeds: in urban routes, the combustion engine primarily acts as an energy generator, while propulsion is mainly provided by the electric motor.

The system delivers about 109 hp of combined power, but the highlight is not in the force, but in how it is utilized. The immediate torque and smooth acceleration make the WR-V hybrid agile in the city, with imperceptible propulsion transitions.

Moreover, the system recovers energy during braking and deceleration, keeping fuel consumption optimized even in heavy traffic.

Fuel Consumption of 23 km/l and Range of 1,100 km Place the WR-V Among the Most Efficient SUVs in Brazil

One of the main assets of the new WR-V lies in its energy efficiency numbers. According to the brand’s internal projections and technical data based on tests with the City Hybrid, the compact SUV will achieve 23 km/l in urban cycles and about 21 km/l on the highway.

With a 50-liter fuel tank, this ensures an estimated range of up to 1,150 km, making the model one of the most economical SUVs in the Brazilian market.

For comparison, the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid delivers fuel consumption of up to 18.5 km/l in the city and has an approximate range of 900 km. In other words, the WR-V will not only be more affordable in price but also promises greater range per refueling, a factor that is increasingly important to consumers.

Embedded Technology and Safety in the WR-V Hybrid-Flex 2025

In addition to the efficient engine, the Honda WR-V hybrid-flex is expected to arrive on the market with a technological package compatible with what the brand already offers in higher models.

The multimedia center will feature a 9-inch floating screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, integration with a remote monitoring app, built-in Wi-Fi, and OTA (over-the-air) updates.

The instrument panel will be digital, with customizable information such as fuel consumption, hybrid battery level, and driving modes. The list of driving assistance features includes autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot alert, and hill start assist.

The body is expected to follow the most recent standards for side and frontal impact protection, and it is anticipated that the model will achieve maximum ratings in Latin NCAP, which is crucial for families and app drivers who rely on safety as a selling or working point.

Updated Design and More Interior Space with Smart Solutions

Regarding its appearance, the WR-V 2025 will completely abandon the old design derived from the Fit. The new project adopts robust lines and proportions closer to a true SUV.

The front features sharp headlights with a LED signature, a honeycomb-patterned grille, and an elevated bumper, conveying a stronger visual presence. The rear is expected to follow the pattern of the new HR-V, with horizontal taillights and a sturdy bumper.

Inside, the highlight is modularity. The model will offer more legroom and shoulder room in the rear and the return of the Magic Seat system, which allows the seats to be folded in various ways to increase the trunk volume or accommodate large objects standing up.

The load capacity is expected to exceed 430 liters, positioning the WR-V as one of the leaders in the category in this aspect.

Price Range Expected to Be Between R$ 120 Thousand and R$ 140 Thousand, Targeting Consumers Seeking Economy and Technology

Honda’s strategy for the WR-V 2025 is clear: to deliver an affordable hybrid, with fuel consumption of a 1.0 car and space of a compact SUV.

The expected price range between R$ 120 thousand and R$ 140 thousand places it in a privileged position in the market: cheaper than the Corolla Cross Hybrid (starting at R$ 180 thousand) and more efficient than rivals like the Kicks, Pulse, or Renegade, which still use purely combustion engines.

This pricing positions the model as one of the most interesting entry points into the world of electrified vehicles in Brazil. Additionally, the fact that it is a flex hybrid — meaning it can run on ethanol — further enhances its national appeal, as many consumers outside the major centers use ethanol as their primary fuel.

Expectations for the Launch and Impact on the Hybrid SUV Market

The launch of the WR-V hybrid-flex is scheduled for the second half of 2025, with production starting in Itirapina (SP), where Honda already concentrates its national assembly line. The brand is also expected to make the official announcement during the first quarter, with more technical details and the reveal of the final design.

Industry experts believe that the WR-V could significantly accelerate the adoption of hybrids in Brazil. This is because the model combines the key elements sought by consumers: low fuel consumption, interior space, safety, and competitive pricing. If Honda can deliver all these elements with the reliability standard that has made it successful, the WR-V could become the new “darling” of the brand in the country.

With this, the automaker anticipates a clear trend: the end of the absolute dominance of combustion SUVs and a gradual migration towards more efficient and sustainable models. The WR-V will not be the only one — Renault, Fiat, and Toyota have similar projects — but it could be the first to really “democratize” access to hybrids with Brazilian DNA.

Que reportagem fraca é essa?
Não existe Corolla Cross na faixa de 140 mil, não existe City Eletrificado, o carro da Honda eletrificado mais barato parte dos 250 mil. Nem o Honda City intermediário está abaixo dos 140 mil.
