IBAMA Plans to Launch a New Public Contest. This Time, the Exam May Offer 2,000 Vacancies for Higher-Level Candidates with Salaries of Over R$ 8,000.
The new authorization request for the public contest of the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA) foresees that more than 2,000 vacancies will be available. In total, there are 2,408 vacancies, according to a document submitted by Rodrigo Agostinho, president of the agency, to Marina Silva, Minister of the Environment. It is important to mention that, in communication with Marina, Agostinho had already announced that the public contest is in the planning phase.

Thus, the distribution of vacancies foreseen by the institution is as follows:
Environmental Analyst – 1503 Vacancies
The environmental analyst works in the management of processes related to the environment within a company, being responsible for ensuring the minimization or elimination of the environmental impacts of the company or industry in which they operate, so that the law is complied with.

Administrative Analyst – 905 Vacancies
Responsible for collecting and analyzing data and information, identifying trends, preparing analyses and performance reports, profits, performance, costs, and others, controlling workflows with a focus on improving them, conducting studies and forecasts to define the best strategies and practices for the company, generating and planning new projects, and analyzing and developing control and organization systems.
In both cases, a higher education degree is required and the current remuneration is R$ 8,547.64, already including performance bonuses and a meal allowance of R$ 458. IBAMA is one of the institutions likely to receive the announced approval from the new package of public contests that are expected to be announced on April 10, by Esther Dweck, Minister of Management and Innovation in Public Services.
IBAMA Releases Technical Note on Public Contest Positions
According to Wagner Rosa da Silva, director of planning, logistics, and administration of IBAMA, the agency presented a proposal to call all candidates remaining from the 2021 contest for analyst positions, as well as environmental technicians, up to the limit of vacant positions and to conduct a new selection process.
A technical note addressing the transformation of positions from high school to higher education was recently released and foresees the transformation of 1,174 opportunities for administrative technicians, from high school, into 538 vacancies for higher education, distributed into 379 vacancies for administrative analysts and 159 vacancies for environmental analysts. It is worth noting that the projection is that 697 vacancies will be created for higher-level analysts through the transformation of 489 higher-level vacancies and 456 high school vacancies.
How Was the Last IBAMA Public Contest?
The last contest of the agency for the effective hiring of candidates took place in 2021. The exam offered 568 opportunities, of which 432 were for individuals with high school education and 136 for higher education, with salaries of up to R$ 8,547.65.
At the time, the organizing body for the public contest was Cebraspe. In the case of high school, the selection process for filling 432 opportunities for the position of environmental technician, with starting salaries of R$ 4,000.
For higher education opportunities, 96 vacancies were opened for environmental analysts and 40 for administrative analysts, both positions offering starting salaries of R$ 8,547.64. IBAMA is a federal agency linked to the Ministry of the Environment that operates in Brazil ensuring, among other responsibilities, compliance with environmental laws.
