The Federal Institute of São Paulo Opens More Than 300 Vacancies in Technical Courses: Opportunities for Those Who Want to Complete High School and Specialize in Strategic Areas Such as Mechanics and Industrial Automation

Imagine completing high school and already being prepared to enter the job market with a technical qualification in hand. This is the reality that the Federal Institute of São Paulo (IFSP) is providing for hundreds of students in the state.

With more than 7,000 vacancies available for the first semester of 2025, IFSP is offering a unique chance for those who want not only to complete high school but also to acquire technical skills in promising areas such as mechanics, mechatronics, and industrial automation. However, most of these opportunities are located in strategic regions like Suzano and Itaquaquecetuba, in the Alto Tietê.

Technical Vacancies for All Student Profiles at IFSP

IFSP offers courses in three different modalities, tailored to the needs and profiles of the students.

  • Integrated Technical Courses: In this modality, the student simultaneously attends high school and the technical course at IFSP, and it is mandatory to have completed elementary school by the registration date.
  • Concurrent Technical Courses: The student takes the technical course at IFSP but must be enrolled in the 2nd or 3rd year of high school at another institution.
  • Subsequent Technical Courses: Designed for those who have already completed high school and now wish to obtain a technical qualification, requiring the completion of high school by the registration date.

These modalities cover various areas of knowledge, offering training that combines theory and practice, preparing students for the challenges of the job market. In Alto Tietê, for example, there are 320 vacancies available distributed between the cities of Suzano and Itaquaquecetuba.

Suzano and Itaquaquecetuba Stand Out with Opportunities in Strategic Areas

At the units in Suzano and Itaquaquecetuba, the course options are geared towards areas that are in constant demand in the market, such as mechanics, administration, and industrial automation.

In Suzano, there are vacancies for technical courses in the following areas:

  • Concurrent or Subsequent Technical Course in Administration (Afternoon) – 40 vacancies
  • Concurrent or Subsequent Technical Course in Industrial Automation (Evening) – 40 vacancies
  • Integrated Technical Course in Industrial Automation (Full-Time) – 40 vacancies
  • Integrated Technical Course in Chemistry (Full-Time) – 40 vacancies

In Itaquaquecetuba, the available courses are:

  • Concurrent or Subsequent Technical Course in Mechanics (Evening) – 40 vacancies
  • Integrated Technical Course in Mechanics (Full-Time) – 80 vacancies
  • Integrated Technical Course in Mechatronics (Afternoon) – 40 vacancies

Affirmative Actions Ensure Inclusion in the Selection Process

IFSP also maintains a policy of affirmative actions to promote social inclusion. Half of the vacancies in each course are reserved for candidates who completed elementary school exclusively in public schools.

In addition, within this reserve of vacancies, there are also criteria that prioritize low-income candidates, those who self-declare as black, brown, or Indigenous, quilombola candidates, and people with disabilities. These criteria aim to broaden access to technical and higher education for historically marginalized groups, reinforcing IFSP’s commitment to equity.

Selection Process Focused on Technical Knowledge

The selection process for admission to the technical courses at IFSP will take place on October 20, 2024. The exams will last three hours and will consist of 30 multiple-choice questions covering content from Portuguese Language and Mathematics.

The locations and times of the exams will be disclosed on October 17, allowing candidates to prepare in advance. It is worth noting that adequate preparation for this exam is essential, as the content covered will be from 6th to 9th grade of elementary school, which requires a comprehensive review by the candidates.

Open Registrations with Possibilities for Fee Waiver

Registrations for the IFSP selection process are already open and will continue until September 8, 2024. To participate, candidates must register exclusively on the institute’s website and provide their CPF on the registration form.

The registration fee is R$ 50 for integrated technical courses and R$ 20 for concurrent or subsequent courses. However, it is possible to request a fee waiver until August 18, provided the candidate meets the income criteria and has completed all of elementary school in a public school or with a full scholarship in a private school.

The offer of technical courses by the Federal Institute of São Paulo represents a valuable opportunity for young people who wish to specialize in strategic areas and enter the job market with a competitive advantage.

With vacancies in several cities in the state and teaching modalities that cater to different student profiles, IFSP establishes itself as a reference institution in technical education in Brazil.
