The Federal Institute of Ceará officially announced it will open registrations for free courses for professional qualification in the areas of renewable energy and energy efficiency. The initiative is part of the Qualifica Mais EnergIFE program and provides 375 spots in in-person classes spread across different municipalities in the state. This action reinforces the role of IFCE in technical training aimed at the energy transition, a sector considered strategic for sustainable development and job creation in Brazil.
The spots are distributed among the campuses in Cedro, Jaguaribe, Juazeiro do Norte, Limoeiro do Norte, Maracanaú, Pecém, and Tabuleiro do Norte. Each class will have 25 spots, designated for both internal and external audiences, with a specific reservation for women. Registrations will occur in person between February 23 and 27, 2026, at the receptions of the participating units, as per the notice published by the institution.

IFCE Expands Free Courses to Strengthen Qualification in Renewable Energy in Ceará
The new selection process from IFCE includes training with workloads ranging from 160 to 200 hours, depending on the chosen course. Classes will be held in the evening, from Monday to Friday, and, in some cases, on Saturday mornings. The pedagogical proposal combines theoretical and practical activities, utilizing laboratories and technical infrastructure available on the campuses.
The offered courses include Biofuel Production Assistant, with two classes in Maracanaú, and Biodigester Operations Assistant, also with two classes at the same unit. There is also training in Energy Efficiency: Maintenance Professional in Energy Systems and Industrial Equipment, with one class at each of the campuses in Cedro, Jaguaribe, and Tabuleiro do Norte.
In the area of clean energy generation, the Wind Energy: Fundamentals course will be offered at the Pecém campus. The Photovoltaic Systems Installer course will have one class in Cedro, Jaguaribe, Juazeiro do Norte, Limoeiro do Norte, and Maracanaú. To keep up with the advancement of sustainable mobility, the Light Electric and Two-Wheel Vehicle Maintenance Professional course will be offered in Juazeiro do Norte and Maracanaú.
With this, IFCE expands the supply of free courses aligned with the real demands of the renewable energy sector, directly contributing to the training of qualified labor in the energy transition.
How Registrations and the Selection Process for Free Courses Work
Registrations for the free courses will be conducted exclusively in person, between February 23 and 27, 2026. The candidate must go to the reception of the campus where they wish to study, within the opening hours of the unit.
To participate, candidates must be at least 18 years old and meet the educational requirements for each training, which vary between complete Elementary School I and complete High School. Travel to the location of the classes is the responsibility of the student.
The selection will take place through a public lottery, according to the schedule established in the notice. This model aims to ensure transparency and equal opportunities in accessing the spots offered by IFCE, expanding the social reach of the free courses in renewable energy.
